Team 1991-92 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Senior (1991-92)
Sue Hesch continued to improve her final season as a Husker, finding a consistent spot in the starting lineup.  Averaging 6.6 points per game, Hesch produced a team second-best field goal percentage of 53.1 percent.  She also 4.1 rebounds per game while posting an impressive free throw percentage at 69.0 percent.

In addition, Hesch recorded 40 assists, 11 blocks and 29 steals.  On January 2, Hesch grabbed a team-best seven rebounds in Nebraska's 85-54 win at Loyola Marymount.

Junior (1990-91)
After spending a year re-learning and refining her basketball skills, Hesch blossomed into the prospected standout that earned her significant high school honors.  She was the team's thrid-leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds.

She led the team and was second in the Big Eight with a 57.8 field-goal percentage, and also averaged 1.4 steals and 1.1 assists.  She cored a career-high 16 points against both Northern Illinois and Colorado, while setting a personal-best with 15 rebounds against both James Madison and Colorado.

She was selected by her teammates as "Most Improved Player", which was due largely in part to her earning most valuable player awards at both the 1990 Wimmer's Invitational and the Ohio State Buckeye Classic.

She was slo honored by her selection to the 1991 Big Eight Select All-Star team and toured Brazil during the summer.

Sophomore (1989-90)
In a transition year, moving from the Husker volleyball team to the basketball team, Hesch played in 23 games, and scored 30 points averaging 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds for the year.  She had a personal-best of six points and five rebounds against Creighton.

Freshman (Volleyball, 1988-89)
Hesch and her twin sister, Sara, were members of the Big Eight champion Husker volleyball team.  After red-shirting her first year with the volleyball team, Hesch played in 34 games and recorded 41 kills, 14 blocks, 36 digs and a .208 hitting percentage.

High School
Hesch was the 1987 North Dakota High School Female basketball athlete-of-the-year and earned high school All-American honors.  She was a three-time all-conference performer on the court and with her sister led Wahpeton to the state title their senior season.

Personal
Hesch is the daughter of Joe adn Carol Hesch.  She received her degree from Nebraska in 1992.
