Team 1996-97 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Junior (1995-96)
Sheila McPherson provided a spark from the bench in 23 of Nebraska's 29 games.  She scored 36 points through the 1995-96 season, while also grabbing six rebounds.  In addition, McPherson produced five steals and four assists.

Against Kent, McPherson scored a season-high nine points, hitting three of her six three-point attempts.  In Nebraska's 69-54 win over Montana State, McPherson almost matched her season-high by scoring eight points, nailing 3-of-4 from the field.

Wabash Vally Junior College
McPherson averaged 15 points, five assists and two rebounds per game for Coach Stephanie Smith at Wabash Vally Community College in Mount Caramel, Ill., in 1995.  McPherson led Wabash to a 21-11 record and was named first-team All-Great Rivers Conference.  McPherson was also named to the All-Great Rivers Conference academic team and made both the President's List and Chancellor's List for her academic achievement.

Prior to Wabash Vally C.C. McPherson played one season at Division II Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

High School
McPherson averaged 11 points, four assists and two rebounds per game for Coach Charles Boehlke at North Central High School in Indianapolis and was an all-conference pick.  She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal
Sheila is the daughter of Lynwood and Doris McPherson.  She has a twin sister, Shannon, and a brother, Shawn.
