2002-03 (Senior)
Shahidrah Roberts (pronounced Shuh-HEE-druh) had a solid senior season after an injury-plagued career.  Roberts produced 10 double-figure scoring efforts in 2002-03, and finished the year averaging 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds, while ranking second on the team with 1.3 steals per game.  She finished her career with 501 points and 268 rebounds, while ranking among NU's career top 10 with 65 made three-pointers.  She played in 90 games with 29 career starts, earning significant starting time as a sophomore and senior.

Roberts appeared in 26 games with 16 starts as a a senior and set a career-high with 35 steals in 2002-03.  She overcame a series of ankle injuries to become a regular contributor as a senior.  She tied a season-high with 15 points and three three-pointers in a loss at Kansas (Jan. 29) and scored 15 points with a trio of three-pointers in the loss to No. 15 Penn State (Dec. 30).

She missed NU's season-opening wins over Grambling State and Rice with an ankle injury, but stepped into the starting lineup for the first time in one year in NU's 73-62 win over New Orleans (Dec. 22).

The New Orleans game marked Roberts' first start since Dec. 22, 2001, in a win over Chicago State.  After that game, Roberts suffered a season-ending ankel injury that required off-season surgery.  The injury forced her to miss Nebraska's final 18 games of the 2001-02 season.  Roberts struck for the only double-double of her career with 14 points, a career-high 11 rebounds and a career-best six assists in NU's win over Cal State Fullerton (Dec. 11).  She played a career-high 32 minutes in NU's upset of No. 25 Cincinnati.

2001-02 (Junior)
Roberts played solid basketball through Nebraska's first 12 contests as a junior, averaging 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest.

But Roberts? junior season was cut short by a severe right ankle sprain suffered in practice on Dec. 28 while preparing for NU?s final non-conference game with Cal State Fullerton.

Roberts missed NU?s final 18 games with the injury, including all 16 Big 12 Conference contests. Along with the ankle injury, Roberts was bothered with an irritation in the lining of her stomach that further slowed her return to action.

Before the ankle injury, Roberts produced one of her best games of the season with eight points and eight rebounds in a season-high 21 minutes while making her first start against Chicago State on Dec. 22. Roberts earned the start in place of Keasha Cannon, who missed the game following her mother?s death on Dec. 19.

Roberts erupted for a season-high 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in just 17 minutes of work against Tulane in the championship game of the San Juan Shootout on Nov. 25. Roberts knocked down 6-of-8 shots from the field, including both of her three-point attempts and a pair of free throws against the Green Wave.

2000-01 (Sophomore)
Roberts came on strong at the end of the season and was the Huskers' second-leading scorer in Big 12 Conference play, averaging 8.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in the league. She was even better in the final seven regular-season games, when she averaged 10.4 points and 4.0 rebounds, including five double-figure scoring efforts.

For the season, Roberts averaged 6.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, while ranking third on the team with 20 three-pointers. She knocked down 33.3 percent (20-60) of her attempts.

Roberts, who started 12 of 29 games, was slowed for most of the non-conference season with a pair of sprained ankles. She opened the Big 12 season healthy and erupted for a career-high 21 points at Texas A&M. She hauled down a career-best 10 rebounds at Kansas on Jan. 31.

Roberts also performed well in the classroom, earning second-team academic All-Big 12 honors and a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

After basketball season, Roberts trained as a high jumper with the Nebraska track and field team, but she did not compete in any meets.

1999-00 (Freshman)
Roberts averaged 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.6 minutes of action per game during the regular season. She averaged 2.5 points and 1.2 boards in Big 12 action.

Roberts connected on 32.4 percent (12-37) of her three-point attempts to rank third on the team. Her production may have been better had she not missed eight games after suffering a strained medial collateral ligament in her knee on Jan. 21.

During the season, Roberts appeared in 23 games, including eight Big 12 Conference contests. She scored a season-high 14 points and grabbed a season-high four rebounds despite battling the flu in Nebraska's win at Wyoming on Dec. 19. Roberts hit 6-of-7 shots from the field, including a pair of three-pointers against the Cowgirls.

She also produced double figures with 10 points, three rebounds and a career-high five assists in NU's season opener against Georgia Southern.

Roberts played in all three of Nebraska's Big 12 Tournament games. She scored two points and tied a season-high with four rebounds against Boston College in the NCAA Tournament.

High School
Roberts earned Miss Basketball honors in Kansas after averaging 14 points, six rebounds and five steals per game as a senior in 1998-99.

Roberts claimed first-team all-state honors to help lead Blue Valley North and Coach Ann Fritz to a state runner-up finish in 1999. She captured the DiRenna Award, given to the outstanding player in the Kansas City metro area, after an outstanding junior season. She earned an invitation to the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Classic as a senior.

Roberts also earned honorable-mention Kansas Player-of-the-Year honors from USA Today.

In addition to leading the Mustangs to the Class 6A (largest) state tournament, Roberts became the first player in Blue Valley North High School history to cross the 1,000-point barrier.

Roberts averaged 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals per game to lead her team to the Kansas Class 6A state title as a junior. Along the way, Roberts was named the Eastern Kansas League Player of the Year and claimed second-team all-state honors. Roberts was the Kansas Class 6A state runner-up in the high jump, clearing a career-best 5-10. She was also an honor roll student.
