Outlook (2024-25)
An accomplished three-sport star at Lincoln Southwest High School, Kennadi Williams will be on both the Nebraska women's basketball and softball rosters in 2024-25. Williams, who is recovering from a knee injury suffered on the soccer pitch on March 23, 2024, was a first-team all-class, all-state performer in both basketball and softball as a senior, while also competing in soccer for the Silver Hawks. She helped those three teams to a total of 12 Class A state tournament appearances in her prep career.
Prior to her second knee injury as a high school athlete, Williams averaged team bests of 16.5 points, 3.2 assists and 3.8 steals in leading Southwest to a fourth consecutive Class A state basketball tournament appearance as a senior. She helped the Silver Hawks to the 2024 Class A semifinals by scoring 13 points in a 58-56 quarterfinal win over Lincoln Southeast before adding 15 points to end her prep career in a loss to Bellevue West (March 1) at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Over 74 career high school games, Williams averaged 12.5 points and 3.1 steals.
The 2022 Lincoln Journal Star High School Female Athlete of the Year as a sophomore, Williams produced her high school accomplishments despite suffering a knee injury in June of 2022 while competing in summer basketball. She returned to the court in mid-February of 2023 and led Southwest to the state tournament before putting up 23 points in the state quarterfinals as a junior in 2023.
Also the 2022 Lincoln Journal Star Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Williams led the Silver Hawks to a state runner-up finish by averaging 11.9 points, 3.2 assists and 3.0 steals to earn second-team Super-State honors. She scored 24 points in a 2022 Class A state quarterfinal win.
The daughter of Nebraska Head Coach Amy Williams, Kennadi is focused on helping the Huskers improve on and off the court each day.
"Kennadi has been passionate about this program since we came to Lincoln, and it is her dream to represent the Huskers and help push this program to national prominence," Williams said. "She is a tough competitor, a gifted athlete, and an amazing teammate who will do whatever it takes to help her team win. I am really looking forward to sharing this experience with her."
Before Nebraska
A four-year varsity letter winner in basketball, softball and soccer at Lincoln Southwest, Kennadi Williams was a Class A all-state selection and a member of the Class A All-Tournament Team while leading the Silver Hawks to a runner-up finish at the Nebraska girls basketball tournament in 2022. She was also an honorable-mention all-state choice in 2023, despite missing 80 percent of the season.
As a senior, Williams averaged team bests of 16.5 points, 3.2 assists and 3.8 steals in leading Southwest to a 22-4 record and a berth in the Class A state semifinals. As a junior, Williams played in Southwest's final five games after returning from a knee injury suffered during summer basketball in June of 2022. She averaged 10.6 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.6 steals over those five games to help the 14-11 Silver Hawks to a state tournament berth in 2023.
As a sophomore, Williams averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 assists and 3.0 steals to earn second-team Super-State and All-Nebraska honors. She was also the 2022 Lincoln Journal Star Girls Basketball Player of the Year. She helped the Silver Hawks to a state runner-up finish by scoring 24 points in a quarterfinal win Omaha Central. Southwest finished with a 21-6 record that included a semifinal victory over Millard South, before suffering a loss to Fremont in the state championship game.
Williams sparked an upstart Southwest team as a freshman, averaging 8.9 points, 1.9 assists and 2.6 steals in helping the Silver Hawks to a 19-3 record and a berth in the Class A state tournament first round. Williams earned honorable-mention Class A all-state accolades from both the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World-Herald in 2021.
She led Southwest to a Class A state semifinal appearance as a senior softball player in the fall of 2023, leading Class A with 18 runs scored while batting .450 with 18 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. She earned first-team All-Nebraska and Super-State recognition along with first-team Class A all-state honors as a senior.
She missed her junior softball season in the fall of 2022 after suffering a knee injury in summer basketball. As a sophomore, Williams batted .362 with six home runs, seven doubles and 29 RBIs as a shortstop and center fielder to help the Silver Hawks to a Class A state championship in the fall of 2021. She was an honorable-mention Class A all-state choice as a sophomore.
She was a member of Lincoln Southwest's soccer program that advanced to the Class A state soccer tournament in the spring of 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The daughter of Lloyd and Amy Williams, Kennadi was born June 15, 2005. She has a younger sister, Bentli.
