Freshman (1993-94)
Rometris (pronounced RO-mee-triss) Davis spent one season at Nebraska, playing in 10 games as a true freshman in 1993-94. A 6-1 forward from Anderson, Ind., Davis scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds in her brief Husker career, playing a total of just 25 minutes. She did not earn a letter at Nebraska.
Davis appeared in two Big Eight Conference games, playing a total of just eight minutes, but she erupted for career highs of six points, three rebounds and two steals on 3-of-5 shooting from the field in the Huskers' 88-49 win over Iowa State in Lincoln on Jan. 30, 1994.
Davis saw her first Big Eight action and grabbed a rebound in the Huskers' 78-58 victory over Kansas State in Lincoln on Jan. 19.
She scored the first point of her NU career at the free throw line in the Huskers' 122-46 win over InterAmerican on Dec. 21, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Davis hit her first field goal in NU's 87-60 win at Arizona State on Jan. 4, scoring two points, pulling down a rebound and blocking her first career shot against the Sun Devils.
High School
Davis averaged 12 points and 10.4 rebounds per game as a senior at Madison Heights High School in Anderson, Ind. She earned all-conference honors and was her team's leading rebounder, shot-blocker and free throw shooter.
Personal
The daughter of Terry and Cheryl Wright, Rometris was born Dec. 1, 1974, in Anderson, Ind. She was a broadcasting major at Nebraska. She chose Nebraska over James Madison, Illinois State, Illinois and Wichita State.
