Junior (1985-86)
As one of Nebraska's top returning non-starters, Ann Costello saw action in all but one of Nebraska's games in the 1985-86 season, breaking into the starting lineup six times. A solid shooter, Costello connected on 42.7 percent of her shots from the floor and hit 77.1 percent of her free throws.
Averaging 4.0 points per game, Costello scored a career-high 11 points against Delta State on January 9. She also grabbed a career-high 5 rebounds against Delta State, averaging 1.7 rebounds per game.
Sophomore (1984-85)
A fine ballhandler and shooter, Costello averaged two points per game in the 1984-85 season with a 42.0 percent shooting percentage. She also produced 18 assists and 11 steals.
Freshman (1983-84)
Costello was the only walk-on to make the team out of 20 players that tried out. Against Kansas, she scored a season-high 10 points and five rebounds against Kansas. She averaged 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
Personal
Costello is the daughter of Vince and Sally Costello. She played for Head Coach Dave Rehfeld at Shawnee Mission East High School. She received her degree from Nebraska in 1987.
