Team 1981-82 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Regina Searcy joined her Lincoln High School teammates Debra Powell and Crystal Coleman at Nebraska after leading the prep power from East St. Louis, Ill., to a 61-game winning streak.

In her only year at Nebraska, Searcy appeared in 21 games as a true freshman and averaged 1.4 points and 1.0 rebound per game. She shot 24.4 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from the free throw line. She added three assists and three steals on the year while earning a varsity letter.

The 5-9 guard/forward was a defensive star in high school. The left-hander averaged 8.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

Searcy was enrolled as a broadcasting major at Nebraska.
