Sophomore (2005-06)
After spending a season making the transition from high school post player to Division I perimeter player, Sarah White made a solid contribution to the Huskers as a sophomore. She asked for and was granted permission to transfer following her sophomore season.

The 6-0 forward from Topeka, Kan., averaged 2.1 points and 0.9 rebounds per game while playing in all 32 contests. She also earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors in the classroom.

White shot 46.2 percent from the field and 55.6 percent (10-18) from three-point range. She had a career-high nine-point effort against Oklahoma State, when she set another career-best with three three-pointers against the Cowgirls.

From Dec. 31 to Jan. 14, White hit seven straight three-point attempts and seven consecutive shots overall before missing her second three-point attempt at Iowa State.

Along with hitting eight more three-pointers than her freshman campaign, White surpassed her freshman totals in rebounds, assists and steals.

White established her career high with nine points against Texas State on Dec. 20, including a pair of three-pointers. She also set a career-best with two assists and added the third blocked shot of her career against the Bobcats.

She added eight points, including a big first-half three-pointer to spark NU's first win at Colorado in 20 years. She added five quick points, including another three-pointer in the win over Kansas on Jan. 7.

White set a career high with three steals against Creighton, and matched it against No. 9 Oklahoma. She added a career-best five rebounds against OU.

Freshman (2004-05)
Freshman Sarah White’s early production was a pleasant surprise for the Huskers. White played in 21 games and averaged 2.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.8 minutes per game.

Although White played in just two of Nebraska’s first eight Big 12 Conference games, her playing time increased significantly during the second half of the league season.

White played in seven of NU’s final seven Big 12 games before seeing time in both of Nebraska’s Big 12 Tournament games and the Huskers’ two contests in the Postseason WNIT. Overall, she saw court time in 11 of Nebraska’s last 12 games, after appearing in just 10 of the Huskers’ first 20 games to open the season.

The native of Topeka, Kan., played a season-high 14 minutes in the Huskers’ Big 12 Tournament loss to No. 17 Kansas State at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., on March 9. She scored three points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out one assist against the Wildcats.

Nebraska coaches had considered redshirting White as a freshman while she made the transition from high school post player to college wing player, but injuries to Nebraska backcourt players Heather Kephart, LaToya Howell and Jelena Spiric early in the season forced White into action sooner than expected.

White stepped up to the challenge. After going scoreless in eight minutes in the season-opening win over Western Illinois, she struck for six points, including her first career three-pointer, in the loss at No. 10 Notre Dame. She produced a season-high seven-point performance in the win over Southeastern Louisiana on Dec. 1.

Against Memphis, she scored six points and grabbed three rebounds in 12 minutes. She added six more points and one rebound in just six minutes of work against Colorado.

White played 12 minutes in the loss at No. 17 Texas, where she scored two first-half points and added three rebounds. She added two more points and three rebounds in just four minutes in Nebraska’s 88-59 win over No. 14 Iowa State in Lincoln on Feb. 12.

She scored two more points and pulled down one rebound in four minutes of action in NU’s win at Texas A&M on Feb. 16, including an appearance in the first half.

White saw 12 minutes of action at Kansas, where she scored three points and distributed her first career assist. She added three minutes of court time against No. 17 Kansas State on Feb. 23.

In the regular-season finale at Colorado, White scored two points, had one rebound, an assist and a steal to help spark the Huskers’ late rally against the Buffaloes.

An excellent student, White earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Fall Academic Honor Roll.

High School
White captured first-team Kansas all-class all-state honors at Washburn Rural High School as a senior in 2003-04. She added first-team Class 6A accolades after leading Washburn Rural to a state runner-up finish as a senior for Coach Bill Annan. She added first-team All-Centennial Conference accolades, as the two-time league most valuable player.

As a junior in 2002-03, White averaged 18.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game to earn second-team Class 6A all-state honors. She was also a unanimous choice for first-team All-Centennial Conference honors.

White earned four letters in basketball and three in soccer. She also claimed first-team Class 6A all-state honors in soccer as a junior in 2003. She did not play soccer as a senior, choosing to concentrate on basketball.

Along with her high school experience, White played for the Kansas Belles basketball club where she was coached by former Husker forward Kate Benson. White also played for the Kansas City Hawks club team.

A solid performer in the classroom, White was a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Personal
The daughter of Randal and Charlet White, Sarah was born Sept. 28, 1985, in Ponca City, Okla. She has one brother, Austin, 22.

White earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors as a sophomore in 2006, and is a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. She owns a 3.22 grade-point average as an elementary education major.

White chose Nebraska over Creighton, Wichita State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
