Team 1992-93 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Senior (1992-93)
Sara Offringa was an intregal part of the 1992-93 Nebraska team, especially in the Huskers' backcourt.  One of the strongest players physically, Offringa scored 10.5 points per game while starting 30 of NU's 31 contests.  She was second on the team in assists, dishing out 80 through the season.

In Nebraska's 92-88 loss to La Salle on Dec. 12, Offringa was NU's leading scorer, putting up a career-high 28 points.  Against Oklahoma State on Jan. 8, Offringa grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds.

Junior (1991-92)
As one of Nebraska's most improved players, Offringa totaled 212 points, 79 rebounds and 71 assists, all of which more than doubled her two-year totals entering the season.  She apperared in all 32 games, and earned a starting spot 10 times.  She had a season-high 16 points in NU's win against Ohio University.  Along with teammate Carol Russell, she was second on the team with 71 assists, and had a season-best eight assists against Bucknell.

Sophomore (1990-91)
Offringa played in 18 games and averaged 2.4 poitns and 0.8 rebounds per game.  She had a season-high 12 points (four field goals, three free throws anda .444 field-goal percentage) against Oklahoma State, and also had to rebounds four times.

Freshman (1989-90)
Offringa played in 27 of the team's 28 games and averaged 4.2 points and 1.9 rebounds.  She had personal bests of 14 points against Oklahoma State, seven rebounds against Creighton and six assists against Georgia State.

High School
Offringa earned all-state honors at Central High School in St. Joseph, Mo.  She was selected all-city three times, all-district twice and all-metro once.  In high school, she averaged 12 points and four rebounds per game and helped her team to the semifinals of the Missouri Class 3A State Tournament.  She earned honorable-mention All-America honors by both Street and Smith's magazine and USA Today, and was named to Dick Vitale's Midewest Top-20 Prepsters.

Personal
Sara is the daughter of Anna dn Milton Tootle, Jr., and Richard Offringa.  She received her degree in 1993 with a degree in consumer science.  She was born Oct. 19, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
