Graduate (2023-24)
Maddie Krull returned for her second season as a Husker and fourth year of college basketball in 2023-24. The 5-9 guard from Omaha joined Alexis Markowski and Allison Weidner as Nebraska natives on the NU roster.

Krull missed Nebraska’s first three regular-season games after suffering a foot injury in practice Nov. 4. She returned to score five points and grab four rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench against No. 22 Creighton (Nov. 19).

She added her a strong performance in NU’s first-ever home win over Maryland (Dec. 31) with five points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. Krull then contributed a season-high seven points to go with four rebounds and two assists in a win over Illinois (Jan. 11).

Krull averaged 2.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists while playing in 32 of Nebraska's 35 games with 16 starts. She was limited throughout the season by her injury and only averaged 7.0 minutes per game over the final four games of the season. She did not score in NU's final seven games of the year, after finding the scoring column in 12 of her first 13 games on the season.

She made her final start of the year at No. 5 Iowa (Jan. 27), after starting 16 consecutive games beginning with a Thanksgiving tournament win over Lamar at the St. Pete Showcase (Nov. 23). Krull showed her toughness by playing a season-high 30 minutes off the bench in a key Husker win at Michigan (Feb. 6), when she contributed five points, three rebounds and three big steals. She added six points on a pair of three-pointers in a Senior Day victory over Minnesota (Feb. 24) in her last home appearance as a Husker at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Krull earned her bachelor’s degree from Nebraska in August of 2023. She earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District VII Team and was named Academic All-Big Ten for her exceptional performance in the classroom.

A leader on and off the court, Krull started 100 games in her college career, including 60 at South Dakota and 40 at Nebraska. She played in 125 collegiate games overall, helping South Dakota to its first-ever NCAA Division I Sweet Sixteen in 2022. In 2024, she helped Nebraska to their first NCAA Tournament win since 2014. 

Sophomore (South Dakota, 2021-22)
Krull started all 35 games for a South Dakota team that advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. For the season, Krull averaged 6.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 31.5 minutes per game.

A tough, talented and versatile guard all over the court, Krull had 13 points, three rebounds and four assists while playing the full 40 minutes in USD's first-round NCAA Tournament victory over Ole Miss.

She added six points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals to help the Coyotes to a 61-47 upset of No. 7 Baylor (March 20) to propel them to the Sweet Sixteen.

For the season, Krull scored in double figures 10 times, including her first career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in an overtime win over Pittsburgh (Nov. 27) at the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.

She put up a season-high 16 points to go along with four assists, two rebounds and a career-high two blocked shots in a 73-71 win at Creighton (Dec. 16). Krull also knocked down a career-best four three-pointers on just five attempts against the eventual NCAA Elite Eight-qualifying Jays.

She closed her USD career with five points, seven rebounds and an assist in a low-scoring 52-49 loss to No. 12 Michigan in Wichita (March 26).

Off the court, Krull earned a spot on the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, which recognizes student-athletes for having a 3.5 GPA or better in at least their third academic semester. She also claimed her second spot on the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

Freshman (South Dakota, 2020-21)
A member of the Summit League All-Newcomer Team as a true freshman at South Dakota, Krull helped the Coyotes win the Summit League Tournament title and advance to the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

One of five Coyotes to play in all 25 games, she became the first freshman starter at USD since 2016. Along the way, she ranked fourth on the team by averaging 9.2 points per game, while adding 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

She scored in double figures 13 times, including her first career 20-point game with 20 points in a win over North Dakota State (Feb. 27). She also put up 15 points on three other occasions during Summit League action.

Krull made an instant impact by scoring 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting in her first collegiate game in a loss to No. 1 South Carolina (Nov. 28). She had 14 points and a season-best eight rebounds in a win over Oral Roberts (Feb. 21). She also went viral with an ankle-breaker highlight that was twice featured in NCAA's Top 5 plays. She ranked second among the Coyotes with 59 assists, including a season-high six against Denver (Jan. 3).

Off the court, Krull earned a spot on the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

High School
A top-100 recruit in the ESPN rankings,  Krull was ranked No. 67 overall in the high school senior class of 2020.

A four-time all-state honoree, Krull was All-Metro Conference and was on the All-Metro Conference Tournament team

Krull finished her career at Millard South ranked No. 2 in school history with 1,312 points. She also set the Millard South record with 430 career assists and 304 steals.

She averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 5.0 steals per game as a senior for the Patriots in 2019-20. She averaged a high school career-best 15.5 points per contest as a junior.

As a sophomore in 2018, Krull scored 30 points in a Class A state semifinal win over Lincoln East.

Krull also powered the All-Nebraska Attack to a fifth-place finish at the 2019 Under Armor National Tournament.

A standout in the classroom as well, Krull was an Academic All-State selection and a National Honor Society member. She was also a two-time recipient of Millard South's all-around student award. 

Krull also accumulated enough college credit to earn an associate degree along with her high school diploma.

Personal
The daughter of Keven and Brenda Krull, Maddie earned her bachelor's degree as a child, youth and family studies major at Nebraska in August of 2023. She is pursuing a master's degree in the same field. She claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors and a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District VII Team in 2024. She has earned three spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was also a member of the 2023 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Krull earned spots on the Summit League Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022, and was a member of the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence in 2022.

She was also recruited by Colorado State, Drake and Wichita State out of Millard South High School.
