Senior (1995-96)
As one of Nebraska's top ballhandlers, Lis Brenden started all 29 games as the Huskers' point guard recording 99 assists and a team-best 55 steals. She averaged 6.6 points per game, hitting 44 percent of her field goals.
In the Huskers 78-63 win over Weber State, Brenden scored a season-high 14 points and also recorded 3 steals. Brenden scored in the double digits six times through the season.
Junior (1994-95)
Brenden spent most of the season as NU's point guard and averaged 8.8 points per game for the second consecutive season. She played in all 27 games and started 21, shooting 26.0 percent from behind the arc. Brended also reached double figures in scoring 12 times while leading the team in scoring three times.
Brenden posted a season-high 21 points against Michigan, 19 against Wisconsin-Milwaukee and 18 points against Kent. She also put together four consecutive double-digit scoring games in January, averaging 11.5 points per game during the streak. Against Kansas State, Brenden grabbed a season-high six rebounds.
As the team leader in steals with 49, she collected a season-high five steals against Michigan and Missouri.
Sophomore (1993-94)
Brenden started 23 games for the Huskers and averaged 8.8 points per contest. During Big Eight Conference play, Brenden stepped up to score 10.4 points per game. Against Iowa State on Feb. 27, Brenden scored a season-high 20 points on 5-7 shoooting and 7-7 free-throw shooting.
Brenden led the conference during league play, hitting 43.6 percent of 3-point shots. On the season, Brenden shot 39.7 percent from behind the arc. She reached double figures 12 times and recorded a double-double against InterAmerican on Dec. 21 with 10 points and 11 assists. She also added a career-high six steals and two rebounds in that contest.
Freshman (1992-93)
Brenden was the only newcomer and one of only five Huskers to play in all of Nebraska's 31 games. She scored 166 points for a 5.4 per-game average and was third on the team in assists with 47. Brenden also hit 42.6 percent of her shots including nine three-pointers.
In NU's 123-62 rout of Howard, Brenden scored a season-high 13 points. She reached double-figures six times throughout the season and shot 72.1 percent from the free throw line.
High School
Brenden was a Street & Smith's High School All-American as a senior at Silverton High School in Silverton, Ore. As one of the most celebrated players out of the state of Oregon, Brenden was named the 3A and Oregon Player-of-the-Year as a senior. She led her team to a 23-4 record and a fourth-place finish in the state tournament.
As a senior, Brenden averaged 23 points, six assists and four rebounds per game and shot 47.0 percent from three-point range. Brenden earned four all-conference and three all-state certificates while also receiving all-conference and all-state honors in soccer.
Personal
Brenden is the daughter of Robert and Bea Brenden. She was born Jan. 2, 1974 in Tacoma, Wash. Brenden recieved her degree from Nebraska in 1996.
