Team 1996-97 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Senior (1996-97)
Despite a late-season knee injury, LaToya Doage had a major impact on Nebraska's 1996-97 team.  Doage played in 25 games for the Huskers, 24 of which she started for NU.  Doage hit an impressive 60.1 percent of her shots from the field, averaging 8.7 points per game.  She also grabbed 2.3 rebounds per game for NU.

Against Creighton, Doage led NU in scoring with 19 points, scoring in double digits 12 times.  Doage was also third on the team in assists, recording 65.

Junior (1995-96)
Doage was the Huskers' leading scorer off the bench averaging 4.5 points per game.  She also chipped in 1.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists to go along with 1.8 steals in 14 minutes a game.  Despite the limited playing time, her performance earned her a spot on the honorable mention All-Big Eight team. 

Her 49 steals ranked her fourth on the team, but just six fewer than team-leader Lis Brenden who logged 514 more minutes of playing time.  Her 55 assists ranked fourth on the team as well.

Doage reached double figures in scoring four times, including an excellent outing against Colorado State in the NCAA Tournament, hitting 5-of-6 from the field.  Doage played in 28 of NU's 29 games.

Lincoln Junior College
Doage led Lincoln Junior College in Lincoln, Ill., to the regional tournament as a sophomore, averaging 19.4 points, 5.5 assists and five steals per game.  Her play in the regional tournament earned her a spot on the all-region tournament team and she was named to the all-region team each of her years at Lincoln.  She helped Lincoln JC to a 24-8 record her final season.

High School
Doage was an all-state selection as a a senior for head coach Kay Robbins at Bloomington (Ill.) High School.  She averaged 17.6 points, 5.5 assists and five steals per game her final season.  Doage finished as Bloomington's career leader in assists (406) and steals (511).  She started three years and was named a first-team All-Big 12 conference selection all three seasons.  She was also a co-captain as a senior and earned IBCA Special Mention honors her senior season when she led Bloomington to a 16-9 record.

Personal
Doage is the daughter of Earl Doage and Phyllis Anderson.  Stepparents are Lori Doage and Leodas Anderson.  Her major is sociology.
