Senior (2023-24)
Kendall Coley provided versatility in her fourth season in Nebraska’s lineup. The 6-2 forward from Minneapolis has appeared in 105 games after enrolling early at Nebraska in January of 2021.
She played a huge role in Nebraska’s 80-74 win at NCAA NET No. 8 Michigan State, hitting all three of her field goal attempts, including two three-pointers, to match her season high with eight points. Two of her hits were buzzer beaters at the end of the first and second quarters to give Nebraska wins in both quarters to take a 43-39 lead to the half.
Coley added two more threes in Nebraska’s Big Ten road win at Wisconsin (Jan. 4). She added six points, two rebounds and a season-high three assists in another Big Ten road win at Purdue (Feb. 17).
She also scored six points on a pair of threes in a Big Ten semifinal win over Maryland (March 9), before hitting a three-pointer to go along with three assists and two blocks in the Big Ten Championship Game against No. 3 Iowa (March 10). Coley contributed three points in Nebraska's NCAA Tournament win over Texas A&M (March 22), before adding four points, three rebounds and an assist in the NCAA Tournament second round against No. 12 Oregon State (March 24).
Coley averaged 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds on the season. She found the scoring column in 20 of Nebraska's 35 games.
She established her season high with eight points on 3-of-3 shooting against TCU (Nov. 25). She added five straight points to start NU’s rally from a 15-point third-quarter deficit that turned into an 80-72 win over Georgia Tech (Dec. 2). Coley notched five points, a career-high-tying seven rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal in a season-high 25 minutes in a win over Alcorn State (Nov. 14).
Junior (2022-23)
Coley opened her third season at Nebraska strong with five points, three rebounds, a career-high four assists and a block in a win over Omaha (Nov. 7), before adding a season-high eight points, two boards, a career-high two steals and another block in a win over Houston Christian (Nov. 11).
Coley pitched in six points, two rebounds, two assists and a block in a career-high 26 minutes in Nebraska’s Big Ten win over Wisconsin (Dec. 7), before getting six points on 2-for-2 three-point shooting in a 90-57 win at No. 25 Illinois (Feb. 22) - Nebraska's largest road victory margin over an AP Top 25 opponent in school history.
She added four points, a season-high six rebounds and two assists in 10 minutes off the bench against No. 11 Maryland (Jan. 22).
For the season, Coley found the scoring column 11 times in 31 games. She averaged 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds. She also added 11 blocks on the year.
Coley enrolled early at Nebraska (January 2021) because of disruptions to the high school season in Minnesota caused by the pandemic. She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Freshman (2021-22)
Coley was a consistent contributor in her second season at Nebraska, averaging 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 11 minutes per game off the bench. Coley, who enrolled early at Nebraska in January of 2021 after signing with the Huskers in November of 2020, put up career highs of 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in a win over North Carolina Central (Nov. 20).
She produced her first career double-figure scoring effort with 10 points and seven rebounds in a season-high 19 minutes in a win over Prairie View A&M (Nov. 11). She added eight big points to go with two rebounds, an assist and a block in NU’s 86-60 win at Wake Forest in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Dec. 1). Coley was outstanding with seven points on perfect shooting to go along with two rebounds and a steal in NU’s 79-58 win over No. 8 Michigan (Jan. 4).
She opened the season with six points, a rebound and an assist in a win over Maine (Nov. 9), before adding three points and four boards in a win over Alabama A&M (Nov. 14).
Coley provided a disruptive presence on defense with two blocks and a steal while adding three points and three rebounds in the win over Creighton (Nov. 17).
Coley hit 9-of-22 three-pointers (.409) and 85.7 percent (12-14) of her free throws.
Freshman (2020-21)
Coley came to Nebraska as the top-ranked player in a top-25 recruiting class for the 2021-22 Huskers. The 6-2 wing from Minneapolis was ranked as one of the top-50 players in the nation by All-Star Girls Report (36), Prospects Nation (39) and ESPN Hoopgurlz (49) in 2021, while adding a No. 52 ranking from Blue Star.
Coley, who committed to Nebraska in April of 2020, averaged 15.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists as a junior at St. Louis Park High School.
She chose to graduate from high school in mid-January of 2021 and enroll early at Nebraska after the high school basketball season in Minnesota was delayed by the pandemic for nearly two months.
Coley joined the Nebraska roster on Jan. 19, and became immediately eligible to play. She went through her first practice on Jan. 21, and was in uniform for NU’s win at Illinois (Jan. 25), but did not play in the game. She made her first appearance in Nebraska’s win over Wisconsin in Lincoln (Jan. 28) and also saw game action at Rutgers (Feb. 7) and against Iowa (Feb. 11).
She finished with two points, a rebound and an assist in 10 minutes of action against No. 9 Maryland (Feb. 14).
Coley hit her first three-pointer, grabbed two rebounds and added a block in NU’s win over Penn State (Feb. 21). She followed with a season-high six points on 2-for-2 three-point shooting at Minnesota (Feb. 24).
She added six more points on a pair of threes while grabbing a season-high four rebounds against the Golden Gophers in the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis (March 10). Coley hit both of her threes in an 18-3 Husker surge midway through the first half to take control of the game. She continued to contribute with three points in 13 minutes of a win over UT Martin in the Postseason WNIT (March 19). She added a pair of rebounds against Colorado the next night in the WNIT.
Coley played double-figure minutes in each of Nebraska's four postseason games in the Big Ten and WNIT tournaments. For the season, Coley averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebound in just under eight minutes per game over 12 contests.
High School
Coley averaged 15.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists as a junior at St. Louis Park High School to earn All-Metro West Conference honors. The honorable-mention All-Minnesota selection was named her team’s MVP and Most Improved Player, while also winning the team’s Oriole Award for her outstanding team spirit.
A multi-sport athlete, Coley earned four letters in basketball and four letters in volleyball at St. Louis Park.
She played AAU basketball for FBC North.
Personal
The daughter of Tylor Coley and the late-Kelli Jo Behrens-Coley, Kendall was born Nov. 3, 2002, in Minneapolis. Kendall has an older sister, Chase, who was a starting forward at Iowa. Their mother lettered as a basketball player at Minnesota in 1983 and 1984 before playing professionally in France and Australia. She was also Minnesota Miss Basketball runner-up in 1982. Tylor Coley was a basketball player at Grace College (NAIA) in Indiana and played professionally in Germany and Australia. Kendall has a younger brother, Khaysen, and a younger sister, Cade. Kendall’s best friend since preschool, Kennadi Orr, was a setter on the U.S. Youth National Team and was the 2019 Gatorade Minnesota Volleyball Player of the Year. Orr is a member of the Nebraska volleyball team.
An advertising and public relations major, Coley is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. She has earned six spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and is a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
She chose Nebraska over Washington, Purdue, Minnesota, Arkansas, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan.
