Team 1999-2000 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Sophomore (1999-2000)
Jennifer Jaracz saw action in 22 of Nebraska's 31 games.  She produced 25 rebounds and 10 points on the season, while also recording four assists and two steals.

Jaracz had a season-high four rebounds against Georgia Southern in Nebraska's season-opener on Nov. 19.  She also scored a season-high three points twice, once against Wisconsin and again at Wyoming.

Freshman (1998-99)
Jaracz played in 20 of the Huskers' 33 games in 1998-99 and was one of Nebraska's most consistent shooters from beyond the 3-point arc.  Jaracz shot a team-best 38.5 percent from 3-point range, knocking down five of the 13 shots she attempted from long range.  She averaged 1.9 points and 0.6 rebounds per contest.

Jaracz turned in her best performance of the season in Nebraska's 78-46 win over the Montana on Dec. 12. Against the Lady Grizzlies, Jaracz enjoyed a perfect shooting night, connecting on all three of her field goal attempts, including two 3-pointers, while sinking a pair of free throws to finish with a career-high 10 points.  She added a career-best four assists and a rebound despite playing only eight minutes.

Jaracz also produced off the bench for the Huskers in a loss at Iowa State on Jan. 28, scoring seven points and grabbing three rebounds in just 10 minutes of action.

For the season, Jaracz shot 40 percent (12-30) from the field and 72.7 (8-11) from the free throw line. 

Jaracz also did a good job of taking care fo the basketball, possessing an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.8.

High School
Jaracz led South Oldham to an Elite Eight finish among Kentucky high schools, averaging 14.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.3 steals per game as a senior.  Jaracz earned Sweet 16 all-tournament honors for her performance in the state tournament for Coach Kim Messer.  The Dragons finished with a 27-8 record.

The 1997 Region Eight Player of the Year, Jaracz claimed second-team all-state honors from the Louisville Courier-Journal.  She was also a member of the 1996 Kentucky Junior All-Stars.  Jaracz earned five varsity letters in basketball during her high school career, while spending four seasons as a varsity starter.

In addition to her success on the basketball court, Jaracz was also a standout forward for the Dragon soccer team.  She led South Oldham to two state titles as a two-time all-state forward.  Jaracz earned four letters in soccer and was recruited by Southern Mississippi.

Along with her athletic accomplishments, Jaracz carried impressive academic credentials throughout high school.  She was a four-time academic all-state athlete, posting a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.  She was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and a class officer throughout her high school career.

Personal
The daughter of Thad and Sharon Jaracz, Jennifer was born Sept. 4, 1979, in Canyon, Texas.  She has one sister, Brooke, and a brother, Kyle.  Jennifer's father, Thad, was a starting center for the University of Kentucky men's basketball team that finished as the NCAA runner-ups in 1966.
