Sophomore (2005-06)
Heather Kephart battled injuries throughout her three-year career at Nebraska. After being granted a medical hardship before the 2005-06 season, Kephart again suffered a season-ending injury to end her collegiate career.

Kephart will likely continue to be a part of the Nebraska program as a student-assistant.

Sophomore (2004-05)
Kephart appeared in just one game early in the year for the Huskers, playing 10 minutes against No. 10 Notre Dame in NU’s second game of the season in the SportsView.TV Preseason WNIT in South Bend, Ind., on Nov. 14. Kephart connected on 1-of-2 three-point attempts against the Irish and pulled down a pair of rebounds, while adding an assist and a steal.

Kephart’s appearance against Notre Dame came after an extensive rehabilitation from offseason foot surgery. She made major progress in her recovery from the foot injury once fall drills began, but her comeback was sidelined by a hip injury after the Notre Dame contest, and she did not play the rest of the season.

2003-04 (Freshman)
Kephart provided a potent threat from three-point range for the Huskers through the first eight games of her freshman season. She connected on 17-of-46 (37.0 percent) three-point attempts to lead the Huskers in both categories through eight games.

She opened the season with 16 points in a win over Wofford, which tied for the fifth-highest total by a freshman in a career-opening game in school history. Her performance against the Lady Terriers included a 4-of-8 effort from long range.

Kephart was even more impressive in Nebraska's come-from-behind win at Washington State, when she hit a career-high five three-pointers on seven attempts. She hit four straight trifectas in the second half to turn a four-point NU deficit into a five-point Husker lead.

Despite playing in only 11 games, Kephart still ranked fifth on the Nebraska freshman single-season list with 17 three-pointers. She also produced double figures in scoring three times, despite averaging just 12.4 minutes per game.

After averaging 7.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 15.4 minutes through the first eight games, Kephart injured her foot in practice on Dec. 20 and missed NU's next 13 games. She returned to play five minutes against Oklahoma State on Feb. 11, when she scored her final two points of the season. She added three minutes against Kansas State and five more minutes against Iowa State. She did not play in NU's final six games of the year and underwent surgery on her foot in March.

High School
A four-year starter at Class B Canute High School, Kephart amassed a then-Oklahoma high school record 2,747 points in 117 career games, averaging 23.5 points per game. Her career scoring mark was broken in 2003-04.

Kephart averaged 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game in 2002-03, despite playing much of her senior season with an injured shoulder that required off-season surgery.

As a junior, Kephart averaged 30.1 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game for Coach Mike Maddox. She connected on 78 three-pointers, while hitting 42 percent of her long-range attempts. Kephart led the Trojanettes to Class B (eighth-largest) state runner-up finishes in 2002 and 2003.

Kephart scored a career-high 45 points against Cheyenne as a junior, and established the state tournament single-game scoring record with a 41-point performance in 2002. She finished her career as the state tournament's all-time leading scorer.

A 2002 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) All-American, Kephart was one of the top players for the Oklahoma Mustangs and earned a pair of national runner-up finishes. Kephart also earned AAU 16-and-under All-America honors.

Kephart was a standout in the classroom, earning valedictorian honors while being named to the National Honor Society.

Personal
The daughter of Dean and Cecilia Kephart, Heather has two older sisters, Jenny and Amber. Heather was born on Jan. 15, 1985, in Clinton, Okla.

Kephart earned her bachelor's degree in business administration in May of 2008. She was a five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

Kephart chose Nebraska over Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Tulsa, UNLV, Denver, Arkansas and Fresno State.
