Freshman (1993-94)
Gretchen Rose earned a letter in her only season of competition at Nebraska. She appeared in 15 games as a freshman, including five Big Eight Conference contests. She averaged 0.5 points and 0.8 rebounds per contest, finishing her career with eight points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Rose hit just 1-of-8 field goals (12.5 percent), including 0-of-1 from three-point range, but connected on 6-of-10 free throws on the year. She had one point, one rebound, one assist and one steal in Big Eight action, posting the point, assist and steal in NU's 78-58 win over Kansas State on Jan. 19.

She scored two points at the free throw line, grabbed two rebounds and added an assist in the Huskers' 78-59 win over Holy Cross on Jan. 2. She added two points at the line and one board in an 85-73 win over Southern Utah on Jan. 28. Rose hit the only field goal of her career and added an assist in a loss to BYU in Moscow, Idaho, on Dec. 3.

High School
Rose was a two-time Super-State and all-state honoree as a forward/center at Hastings High School. She was the honorary captain of the 1993 Class A All-State team and the Hastings Tribune Athlete of the Year. She finished her career at Hastings with 919 points, including a school-record 30 points in a single game.

The daughter of Jon and Connie Rose, Gretchen was born Aug. 2, 1975, in Hastings.
