Team 1982-83 Nebraska Women's Basketball

Senior (1982-83)
A tough competitor who provided Nebraska with constant all-out efforts, Chris Leigh played in all of Nebraska's 28 games, averaging 7.8 points per game.  A consistent shooter, Leigh hit 47.7 percent from the field and 81.6 percent from the free throw line. 

A strong rebounder, Leigh grabbed 3.5 boards per game and produced a team-high six rebounds against Texas.

Junior (1981-82)
Leigh saw time as both a starter and a key reserve in all of NU's 31 games.  She was the team's best free-throw shooter, hitting 88.4 percent.  She also scored 5.6 points while grabbing two rebounds per game.

Sophomore (1980-81)
An outside scoring threat, especially against zone defenses, Leigh provided offensive punch in a sparkplug role as a sophomore.  Averaging 4.8 points per game, Leigh hit 42 percent of her shots from the field and 52 percent of her free throws.  She also grabbed 57 rebounds, averaging two per game.

Freshman (1979-80)
Leigh offered excellent depth for the Huskers in her first year.  She averaged five points per game and posted an outstanding 23 inch vertical jump.  Leigh was also one of NU's top defensive players.  In addition to handing out 58 assists, Leigh also produced 71 rebounds for the season.

High School
Leigh was the MVP in Nebraska as a senior and was all-super state.  She scored over 1,000 points in her high school career, 525 in her senior year alone.  Also as a senior, Leigh dished out 180 assists and averaged 13 rebounds per game.

Personal
Leighis the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leigh.  Her father was a former Nebraska football quarterback.  She received her degree from Nebraska in 1983.
