Junior (1994-95)
Belinda Bynum claimed some time at point guard, seeing action in nine of Nebraska's games. Bynum averaged 2.3 points while connecting on 32 percent from the floor. Bynum also produced 1.4 rebounds per game.
Bynum recorded nine assists and seven steals while also hitting 55.6 percent of her free throws.
Sophomore (1993-94)
Bynum played in 28 games for the Huskers, averaging 2.5 points and 1.0 rebound per game. Against Arkansas, Bynum scored a season-high seven points.
Bynum shot 30.7 from the field and 61.6 percent from the free-throw line. In addition, Bynum produced 19 assists and 10 steals.
Redshirt Freshman (1992-93)
Bynum appeared in 23 games and averaged 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. She also connected on 52.9 percent of her shots from the floor.
In the Huskers' first round game of the Big Eight Tournament, Bynum had a career-high 10 points, hitting all three shots from the floor, including her lone 3-point attempt of the season. She finished the season with 16 assists and 10 steals.
High School
Bynum earned all-league honors in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons at Southwest High School in Kansas City, Mo. She also garnered all-district and all-metro recongnition in her final two years, and was the Army Reserve and Kansas City Star Scholar-Athlete award recipient. Bynum was a member of the National Honor Society and a four-time Honor Roll member along with student body president.
As a senior, Bynum averaged 15 points and four assists per game and helped her team finish in the top eight in the Missour state tournament.
Personal
Bynum is the daughter of Curtis and Vivian Bynum. She has a sister, Shenita and a brother, Jermaine. She recieved her degree in human development in 1995.
