Sophomore (2021-22)
Ashley Scoggin started 51 consecutive games for Nebraska including 25 straight to open the 2021-22 season. She averaged 8.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists, while ranking among the Big Ten and national leaders by hitting 42 percent (55-131) of her three-point attempts. Her three-pointer percentage was the seventh-best season mark in school history.
In two seasons as a starter, Scoggin totaled 431 points, 96 rebounds and 98 assists, while knocking down 98 three-pointers. Her career 39.7 three-point percentage ranked seventh in Husker history. She scored six points and hit both of her three-point attempts in Nebraska's 72-55 win over No. 5 Indiana (Feb. 14) in the final game of her Nebraska career.
Scoggin scored a career-high 20 points on a career-high six threes at No. 17 Maryland (Feb. 6). She also had a career-high four steals against the Terps. She had 19 points in a win over NC Central (Nov. 20), when she hit four threes. She added four more threes to finish with 16 points and three steals in a win over Drake (Dec. 19). Scoggin also hit four threes to finish with 12 points at San Diego (Nov. 27). She pitched in 12 points on four more threes at Michigan State (Dec. 30), before getting 13 points and four assists against Iowa (Jan. 9).
She opened the season with 12 points and a career-high six assists in a win over Maine (Nov. 9). It was the first of seven double-digit scoring efforts for Scoggin on the year, and she finished with 20 double-figure scoring performances in 51 career games as a Husker.
Scoggin scored six points while hitting both of her three-point attempts in a 72-55 win over No. 5 Indiana (Feb. 14) in the final game of her Nebraska career.
Sophomore (2020-21)
Scoggin earned starts in all 26 games for Nebraska in 2020-21. She averaged 8.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 31 minutes per game.
In the victory over Penn State (Feb. 21), Scoggin poured in a season-high 18 points while adding a season-best five assists. She had a 17-point, four-assist effort at Iowa (March 6) when she played a career-high 39 minutes.
Scoggin, who produced double figures 13 times, including eight times in the final 12 games of the season, scored 16 points each against Minnesota (Jan. 19), Purdue (Dec. 23) and Idaho State (Dec. 6). She added 14 points against No. 7 Maryland (March 11) in the Big Ten Tournament. She also tied her season high with four threes against the Terps.
She scored 13 points in a Postseason WNIT win over UT Martin (March 19), when she also dished out three assists and added a steal.
Scoggin scored 11 points in Nebraska’s win over No. 15 Northwestern (Dec. 31) before adding 10 points and a season-high five rebounds to complete the season sweep of the Wildcats (Feb. 17). She scored 11 points in a win over Rutgers (Jan. 3), and sank two free throws with 12 seconds left to seal the win. Scoggin added eight points, including seven in the first quarter, to go along with four assists to help the Huskers win at No. 23 Michigan State (Jan. 10). Scoggin had seven points and a season-high five boards in a win over No. 15 Ohio State (Jan. 16).
Redshirt Freshman/Freshman (Salt Lake City CC, 2018-20)
Scoggin averaged 10.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a redshirt freshman for Salt Lake City CC in 2019-20. She helped lead the 20-7 Bruins to the NJCAA Region 18 title and a share of the Scenic West Athletic Conference championship. Scoggin, who hit nearly 40 percent of her three-point attempts and almost 95 percent of her free throws on the season, earned first-team All-Region 18 honors and was a member of the Region 18 All-Tournament team.
Scoggin's strength and fitness level increased throughout 2019-20 at Salt Lake City CC. At Utah State Eastern on Feb. 22, Scoggin played 40 minutes. She was also a regular double-figure scorer down the stretch for the Bruins. Early in the year, she erupted for a season-high 22 points while knocking down 6-of-9 threes in a win over Eastern Wyoming (Nov. 29). Her performance helped her earn conference player-of-the-week honors.
Scoggin enrolled at Salt Lake City CC prior to the 2017-18 season. She suffered a torn ACL in her right knee on July 13, 2017, and redshirted during the 2017-18 season. In 2018-19, Scoggin continued to feel discomfort in her right knee and underwent another ACL surgery on her right knee in November of 2018, before undergoing a minor meniscus repair in September of 2019.
High School
Scoggin suffered a torn ACL in her left knee in the summer of 2015, prior to her senior season at Westview High School in Portland, Ore. The injury also caused her to delay her collegiate enrollment until after the 2016-17 season.
As a junior at Westview in 2014-15, Scoggin averaged 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. She was a two-time first-team all-metro performer at Westview. As a sophomore at Westview, Scoggin averaged 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals while helping Westview to a third-place finish at the Class 6A state tournament. Scoggin played her sophomore season alongside former WNBA player Jaime Nared (Las Vegas Aces), who enters her fourth professional season overall Enisey (Russia) in 2021-22.
Scoggin played her freshman season at West Salem High School, averaging 15.7 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals.
Personal
The daughter of Craig and Krissy Scoggin, Ashley was born May 8, 1998, in Eugene, Ore. She has a younger brother, Justin, and a younger sister, Kyra. A child, youth and family studies major, Ashley received her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2022. She earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2020-21. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2021.
