Bobby Carter joined the Nebraska track and field staff as a volunteer assistant coach in 2016-17. Carter assists with the horizontal jumps.
A native of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Carter was an All-America long jumper at Nebrasaka from 2010-13. As a freshman in 2010, Carter finished 12th at the NCAA Indoor Championships and eighth among Americans with a long jump of 24-8 1/2 (7.53m). Carter's indoor long jump best of 25-8 1/4 (7.82m) is tied for seventh in NU history.
Carter and the 4x100-meter relay received USTFCCCA honorable mention at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
