Miles Ukaoma

Miles Ukaoma (pronounced you-coma)  registered a season-best time of 8.01 in a runner-up showing at the Nebraska Tune-Up… finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles at the New Mexico Invitational… participated in the 60-meter hurdles at the Big Ten Indoor Championships where he took 10th place.

2013 (Junior)
Ukaoma earned first-team All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing sixth... helped the men’s 4x400-meter relay team to the Big Ten title at the 2013 Outdoor Championships with a time of 3:07.87... posted a season-best time of 49.57 in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA finals, finished with a time of 49.63 in the preliminaries... finished with a time of 8.14 in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships... competed in six meets during the 2013 indoor season... recorded a personal-best time of 7.90 in the 60m hurdles at the Mark Colligan Memorial...  posted a season-best time of 14.51 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Kansas Relays... finished third in the 400-meter hurdles at the Drake Relays with a time of 50.73... claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

2012 (Sophomore)
Ukaoma became a two-time All-American in 2012 after finishing with a second-team nod in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships... continually improved during the outdoor season, emerging as one of the top hurdlers in the country... captured his first conference title at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a personal-best time of 49.23 in the men’s 400-meter hurdles... Set personal-best times of 7.91 in the indoor 60-meter hurdles, 13.91 in the 110-meter hurdles and 49.23 in the 400-meter hurdles as a sophomore...finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships with a time of 8.00... along with his outdoor title in the 400-meter hurdles, he finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a time of 13.94... earned first-team All-Big Ten honors during the outdoor season.

2011 (Freshman)
Ukaoma earned All-America honors in 2011 with a time of 51.33 in the 400 hurdles at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Championships... finished 18th in the 4x400-meter relay at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 3:09.86... earned two All-Big 12 honors at the 2011 Big 12 Indoor Championships, finishing eighth in the 60 hurdles (8.10) and sixth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:11.34)... posted a personal-best time of 47.80 in the 400 meters at the adidas Classic... recorded a season-best mark of 7.92 in the 60 hurdles at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Feb. 18... earned two All-Big 12 honors at the 2011 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, placing eighth in the 400 hurdles (51.45) and sixth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:09.92)... tabbed a season best of 14.32 in the 110 hurdles at the Baldy Castillo meet on March 19... notched a season-best time of 51.33 in the 400 hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Before Nebraska (Maize)
Ukaoma completed his prep career at Maize High School as a nine-time Class 6A state medalist in Kansas’ largest class... placed third in the 400 meters (49.09) and ran the second leg of the second-place 4x400-meter relay in 2008... returned in 2009 to win the 400 meters with a time of 47.95 and ran the second leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay, while adding medals in the 200 meters (4th) and 110 hurdles (3rd)... defended his title as a senior in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 47.94... added two runner-up medals in the 110 hurdles (14.41) and as the anchor of the 4x400-meter relay (3:21.25).
