Jake McDougle is in his second year as a recruiting assistant for the Nebraska track and field and cross country programs. McDougle previously served as a volunteer coach for the Huskers.
McDougle joined the Huskers after graduating from the University of New Hampshire in May 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. As an athlete with the Wildcats, he was a nine-time America East Conference scorer in the 800 meters, 1,000 meters, 4x800 meters and 4x400 meters. McDougle is the current school record holder in the 4x800 and was a point scorer at the New England level multiple times, while also becoming a repeat individual qualifier at the ICAAAA level. He was a recipient of the John and Catherine Goegel Scholarship while at UNH.
Due to an injury suffered during his final semester at the University of New Hampshire, McDougle served as a volunteer coach for the men's distance and middle distance runners. He helped coach New England Champions in the 800 meters, 1,500 meters and the 4x800 meters during the outdoor season. He also served as a volunteer cross country assistant coach at Fall Mountain Regional High School.
McDougle has achieved numerous professional certifications, including USATF Level 1 Certification, USTFCCCA Endurance Specialist Certification and USTFCCCA Track and Field Technical Certification.
