2013 (Senior)
Janis Leitis produced a stellar start to the 2013 season, winning the Big Ten triple jump title and helping the men's 4x400 meter relay team to a first-place finish at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships... recorded a leap of 52-0 1/2 (15.86) in the triple jump at the Big Ten Championships... helped the 4x400 meter relay team to a time of 3:06.67 in their win... earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in both events... finished ninth in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships, posting a leap of 25-4 1/2 (7.73)... also finished ninth in the triple jump at the national meet, recording a mark of 51-9 1/4 (15.78)... earned second-team All-America honors in both events... set indoor personal-best times of 6.92 in the 60 meters at the NWU Invite, 21.43 in teh 200 meters at the Holiady Inn Invite and 46.71 in the 400 meters at the Razorback Invitational... also recorded a personal-best leap of 25-6 (7.77) in the long jump and a mark of 52-10 3/4 (16.12) in the triple jump at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite... earned First-Team All-America honors at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships with an eighth-place finish in the long jump on a leap of 25-8 (7.82)... finished third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, also notching a 13th-place finish in the 200 meters... finished first in the long jump at the Drake Relays with a leap of 25-9 1/2 (7.86)... also helped the men's 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish and a time of 3:03.79 at the Drake Relays... posted a personal-best time of 21.28 in the 200 meters and season-best leaps of 24-11 (7.59), 25-9 1/2 (7.86)w in the long jump and 50-2 (15.29)w in the triple jump during the outdoor season.

Before Nebraska (Riga Stradins University)
Leitis joined the Nebraska track and field team as an accomplished jumper from Riga, Latvia... competed at the 2012 London Olympics, recording a time of 46.41 in the 400 meters, as he advanced to the quarterfinals... won the 2009 European U23 long jump title with a mark of 25-11... finished first in the long jump, posting a leap of 24-4 1/2, at the 2010 Latvian National Championships... was also the long jump champion at the 2009 Latvian National Championships, recording a mark of 24-10 1/2 and the 200 meter champion with a time of 21.57... finished 20th in the long jump at the 2010 European Championships with a jump of 25-10... posted indoor personal bests of 21.65 in the 200 meters, 47.10 in the 400 meters, 6-4 3/4 in the high jump and 25-0 in the long jump... recorded outdoor personal bests of 10.72 in the 100 meters, 21.29 in the 200 meters, 45.88 in the 400 meters, 26-2 1/4 in the long jump and 6-6 3/4 in the high jump.
