Zac Holoch (pronounced HALL-uck) earned All-Big 12 honors both indoors and outdoors in 2009, while also qualifying for the NCAA Midwest Regional for the third straight year... finished in the top 10 at all five indoor meets he vaulted in... opened the year with a fifth-place showing at the Conference Challenge (16-2)... vaulted a season best of 16-4 3/4 at the Big 12 Indoor Championships to finish eighth for the second straight year... vaulted at seven meets during the outdoor season... earned back-to-back top-five finishes at the Nebraska Invitational (3rd - 15-9) and John McDonnell Invitational (4th - 16-0 3/4)... cleared a personal best height of 16-8 3/4 at the Concordia Invitational, finishing second... vaulted 16-6 3/4 at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships to place fifth, his top finish at a conference meet... ended the year by tying for eighth at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a vault of 16-7 1/4... leaves Nebraska tied for the No. 14 spot on the all-time NU indoor performance list in the pole vault and holds the No. 17 spot on the all-time outdoor list.
2008 (Junior)
Holoch saw significant improvement in the pole vault in 2008, as he shattered his indoor personal best by more than seven inches while adding one-half inch to his outdoor personal best... started the indoor season with a then personal-best vault of 16-0 3/4 at the Holiday Inn Invitational to finish third... cleared 16-6 the following week at the Conference Challenge to tie for runner-up honors... cleared an indoor personal-best 16-6 3/4 at his first Big 12 Indoor Championships... soared 16-0 3/4 during the outdoor season at the Kansas Relays to place first... scored at the Big 12 Championships for the first time with a vault of 16-6 3/4 to place eighth... ended the season with a personal-best vault of 16-7 1/4 at the NCAA Midwest Regional, finishing 10th.
2007 (Sophomore)
After two seasons of battling injuries, Holoch finally enjoyed his first collegiate outdoor PR in 2007... vaulted a personal record of 16-6 3/4 in the pole vault three times during the outdoor season, including the last time for a 10th-place finish at the Big 12 Championships... qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional with the height.
2006 (Redshirt Freshman)
Holoch reached an indoor season-best mark of 15-6 to conclude his indoor season with a sixth-place finish at the Prairie Wolf Invitational... competed in three outdoor competitions, but was unable to reach opening height during each meet.
2005 (Freshman)
Holoch redshirted during the indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year... competed unattached in one outdoor competition at the Nebraska Wesleyan Twilight (13-8).
Before Nebraska (York HS)
Holoch finished runner-up in the pole vault at the 2002, 2003 and 2004 Nebraska Class B state meets with respective vaults of 14-2, 15-0 and 14-6 under Coach Randy Cordes... cleared his prep-best height of 15-11 at the Central City Invitational... the mark ranked fifth on the all-time pole vault charts for prep vaulters in the state... was a member of the National Honor Society.
