2005: Sara Jane Baker reached the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships for the second straight season as a junior... finished 12th in the pentathlon indoors with a career-high 3,978 points... placed 15th outdoors in the heptathlon with 5,328 points... earned runner-up honors to teammate Ashley Selig in both the Big 12 indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon competitions... also scored in the high jump at both meets by tying for eighth place indoors (5-6) and outdoors (5-7)... posted a regional-qualifying high jump of 5-8 3/4 to place third at the Drake Relays... set career-best performances of 2:13.98 in the 800 meters, 8.99 in the 60-meter hurdles and 35-4 1/2 in the shot put during the Big 12 pentathlon... notched outdoor personal bests of 25.31 in the 200 meters and 14.70 in the 100-meter hurdles during respective heptathlon competitions at the Big 12 outdoor and NCAA outdoor meets... recorded her career-best heptathlon score of 5,469 to finish second at the Audrey Walton Combined Events Carnival, where she set personal bests of 18-11 1/2 (wind-aided) in the long jump and 130-1 in the javelin during the competition. 2004: Baker competed at both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships during her sophomore season... placed 10th in the pentathlon indoors with a score of 3,848 points... finished ninth outdoors with a score of 5,263w... won bronze in the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon with a then-career-best mark of 5,295 points... tied for sixth place in the high jump at the Big 12 outdoor meet... tied for second in the high jump, clearing 5-6 1/2, and won bronze in the javelin (116-0) at the Nebraska Quadrangular... took fourth place in the Big 12 pentathlon with a career-best score of 3,868 points... had career-best indoor performances in the 800 meters (2:16.29) and 60-meter hurdles (9.16) in the Big 12 pentathlon... also finished fifth in the high jump at the conference indoor championships, clearing 5-8... won silver in the high jump with a height of 5-7 3/4 at the adidas Classic... earned bronze in the 600-yard run in a time of 1:26.17 and in the high jump with a leap of 5-6 1/2 at the Holiday Inn Invitational. 2003: Baker had a solid freshman campaign, finishing sixth in the Big 12 Indoor pentathlon with 3,718 points... ran a lifetime indoor best in the 400 meters (57.76) at the Prairie Wolf Invitational, where she finished third... ran 1:24.21 in the 600-yard run at the Holiday Inn Invitational... took silver in the Carol Robinson Winter Pentathlon with a score of 3,554... tied for second in the high jump at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a leap of 5-8 3/4... finished eighth in the heptathlon (5,065) at the conference championships.
