2005: Amanda Benson tied for eighth in the high jump at her first Big 12 Indoor Championships with a leap of 5-6... set an indoor personal best of 5-7 to earn fifth while competing unattached at the adidas Classic... opened her indoor career unattached with a sixth-place finish (5-6 1/2) at the Holiday Inn Invitational... tied for seventh outdoors with a season-best mark of 5-5 at the John Jacobs Invitational. High School: Benson claimed back-to-back Nebraska Class B state high jump championships as a junior in 2003 and senior in 2004... winning marks were 5-6 as a junior and 5-5 as a senior...leaped a personal best 5-8 at the Howells, Dodge, Logan View Triangular on May 4, 2004... best performance in 2003 was 5-7 at the Tekamah-Herman Invitational... also qualified for the 2002 state championships as a sophomore, but did not place.
