2006: Val Zajac, also a member of the Nebraska cross country program, made consistent strides indoors as a sophomore in the 3,000-meter run, but was unable to compete during the outdoor season due to a stress fracture in her leg... set personal-best marks three times in the 3,000, including a mark of 10:52.50 at the Prairie Wolf Invitational... placed third in the mile at the Nebrsaka Wesleyan Twilight... also competed in the 5,000 (19:41.11) at the Holiday Inn Invite. 2005: Zajac made improvement during her first year of competiton as a Husker... lowered her indoor 3,000-meter time to a then-personal-best 11:06.91 at the Husker Invite... concluded the indoor season by running a career-best 5,000-meter time of 19:06.72 at the Prairie Wolf Invite... recorded a career-best 10:47.52 in the 3,000 meters outdoors at the John Jacobs Invite. 2004: Zajac redshirted during the 2004 season with a stress fracture she suffered in the fall... competed unattached twice during the outdoor season and once indoors.
