2009 (Senior)

A team co-captain once again in 2009, Patrick Burke medaled for the second straight year at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, while also making his first trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional meet during the outdoor season... finished third in the heptathlon at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, posting an NCAA provisional-qualifying score of 5,392 points... took top honors in the heptathlon 60-meter dash (8.52), high jump (6-7 1/2) and pole vault (16-2 3/4)... improved his season-best score at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with 5,481 points, finishing sixth at the meet, while posting the 22nd-best score in the country in 2009... focused on the pole vault during the outdoor season... finished in the top five at three of the four meet he vaulted in... opened the year with back-to-back personal-best clearances of 16-6 3/4 at the Jim Click Shootout and Drake Relays, qualifying him for the NCAA Midwest Regional... vaulted at the regional meet, but was unable to clear the opening bar... ends his Husker career as a two-time All-Big 12 heptathelete... ranks in NU’s all-time top 15 in the heptathlon (4th), indoor pole vault (t-14th) and decathlon (13th).

 

2008 (Junior)

Burke earned his first Big 12 Conference medal in 2008 at the indoor championships in the heptathlon... competed in the heptathlon twice during the indoor season at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational and Big 12 Championships, finishing fourth at both meets... set six different personal bests during the indoor season... posted a personal-best score of 5,504 at the Big 12 Championships, only the fourth Husker in school history to score that high... opened the outdoor season at the Jim Click Shootout with a fourth-place finish in the decathlon, recording a personal-best score of 6,794 points while moving up to No. 12 all-time at Nebraska... member of 4x100-meter shuttle hurdle relay that finished first at the Drake Relays (57.74)... was unable to compete in the decathlon at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship due to an elbow injury, but did tie for 10th in the pole vault with a vault of 16-0 3/4.

 

2007 (Junior / Sophomore)

Burke redshirted his indoor season and continued his decathlon development during the outdoor season... completed the decathlon once during the outdoor season, finishing eighth (6,372) at the Audrey J. Walton Decathlon after setting then-personal bests in the 100-meters (11.68) and discus (107-4)... entered the decathlon at the Big 12 Championships, but did not finish...  finished second in the high jump (6-8 3/4) and third in the pole vault with a season-best jump of 15-7 at the Nebraska Open... was a member of the 4x110-meter shuttle hurdle relay that won the Kansas Relays title (59.14).

 

2006 (Sophomore / Redshirt Freshman)

Burke made a successful transition to the combined events as a sophomore, finishing in the top 10 at both Big 12 indoor and outdoor multi-event competitions... earned ninth in the Big 12 indoor heptathlon with a season-best score of 5,177 after setting individual event bests in the 60-meter dash, pole vault, long jump and shot put... finished 10th outdoors in the decathlon with a season-best 6,704 points after posting bests in the 100- and 400-meter dashes, pole vault, long jump, shot, discus and javelin... also placed 10th in the high jump outdoors (6-6 3/4)... posted a score of 6,256 in his first career decathlon at the Jim Click Combined Events... finished fourth at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational heptathlon indoors with a then-career-high score of 4,964.


2005 (Freshman)

Burke competed for Nebraska in the high jump during his first indoor season before redshirting outdoors... opened his career with a season-best clearance of 6-9 3/4 to tie for third place at the Holiday Inn Invite... claimed fifth place at the KSU Open with a height of 6-8 3/4... tied for fifth at the Northern Iowa Invite (6-8) and adidas Classic (6-6 1/4)... competed unattached outdoors at the Nebraska Wesleyan Twilight, tying for fourth place (6-5).

 

Before Nebraska (Bellevue West HS)

Burke won the 2004 Nebraska Class A and All-Class gold medals in the high jump for Bellevue West with his personal-best leap of 6-10 under Coach Dave Seeba... also ran the 110-meter hurdles at the 2004 state meet, placing sixth (15.21)... went undefeated in the high jump his senior year, including wins at the Class A-4 district meet and Ralston Ram Relays with leaps of 6-9... tied for sixth in the 2003 Class A high jump (6-2)... tied for eighth in the high jump at the 2002 Class A state meet (6-2), and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay that finished seventh... was the runner-up (6-2) in the 2003 Nebraska USATF Junior Olympics young men’s high jump... earned the 2002 Nebraska USATF Junior Olympics intermediate boys high jump championship (6-0).
