2003: Maggi Escudero had a successful campaign in 2003 for the Huskers, competing in the hurdles and on NU’s relay teams... was a member of Nebraska’s 4x400-meter and distance medley relay teams that took fourth-place at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... finished fourth (8.94) in the 60-meter hurdles at the Wildcat Invitational to open the season... took seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.41) and third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.70) at the Holiday Inn Invitational... ran to a second-place finish (8.57) in the hurdles at the Prairie Wolf Invitational...was second in the hurdles (8.49) and fourth in the 200 meters (25.17) at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational... ran a career-best 1:03.59 in the 400 hurdles in the preliminaries of the Big 12 Outdoor Championships... finished eighth in the finals,  clocking a time of 1:04.46... set 100-meter hurdle season best (14.14) at the Ward Haylett Invitational where she finished fifth... competed as a member of <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska’s seventh-place 4x400-meter relay team at the conference meet. At CuyamacaCommunity College:  Was the 2002 California State Community College sixth-place finisher in the 100-meter hurdles (14.72w) and was eighth in the javelin (107-5)... SoCal Community College champion in the 100-meter hurdles (14.55) and sixth in the javelin (105-8)... also won the SoCal heptathlon with 4,292 points... set 400 meters personal best at the UC San Diego Invitational with a winning time of 57.56... did not compete in 2001... made tremendous improvement over high school performances during 2000 freshman season... California State Community College champion in 100-meter hurdles (14.19) and was third in javelin with a personal-best 128-6 throw... SoCal Heptathlon runner-up with a personal-best score of 4,423 points.  High school: Escudero set the El Capitan school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.5... ran 300-meter hurdles in a personal best of 46.1... competed in 1999 California state championships as a senior in the 100-meter hurdles, running 15.28 in the prelims, but did not advance to the finals... qualified for state by winning the San Diego Section in 15.35.  Personal: Community college coach was James King... major is physical education... parents are Christopher and Stephanie Escudero... born July 19, 1981.
