A sprinter from Iowa City, Iowa, Jill Myatt was a key member of the Huskers’ relay teams during her time at NU from 1994-97. A four-year letterwinner, Myatt earned five All-America honors during her career and was part of four conference championship relay teams. As a freshman in 1994, Myatt help the NU women sweep the 4x400 titles at the conference championships and ran a leg of the eight-place 4x400 team at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She was the opening leg of the 4x400 teams the repeated as Big Eight champions both indoors and outdoors in 1995 and also added All-America honors outdoors in the 4x400 with a sixth-place finish. Myatt earned two more All-America honors in 1996 with a pair of eight-place finishes at the indoor and outdoor national championships in the 4x400. She capped her senior year with a third-place finish in the 4x400 at the 1997 NCAA Indoor Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., where the team tied for ninth-place. For her efforts on the track and in the classroom, Myatt earned First-Team Academic All-America honors in 1997 and also graduated in May of ’97 with a degree in biochemistry.
