2008 (Senior)
Vince Sickler, also a member of the Nebraska cross country program, competed both indoor and outdoor for the track team in his final season... set personal bests in the 1,000 meters (2:32.38) and mile run (4:15.80) during the indoor season... top finish was at the Prairie Wolf Invite... finished runner up in the 1,000 meters... opened the outdoor season at the Jim Click Shootout with a sixth-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:02.11)... competed in four other meets during the outdoor season... ended Husker career at the Nebraska Invitational with a sixth-place finish in the 800 meters (1:56.13).
2007 (Junior)
Sickler was slowed by recovery from surgery to alleviate posterior compartment syndrome in his lower legs... set personal records in both the 1,000-meter run (2:29.49) and mile run (4:22.74) during the indoor season... during the outdoor campaign, bettered his career bests on three occasions... at the Stanford Invitational, bettered his personal best in the 800 (1:55.33) and also ran the 1,500 meters... closed his season with a season-best 3:54.72 in the prelims of the Big 12 Championships, but did not advance to the finals.
2006 (Junior)
Sickler redshirted during his first season at Nebraska after transfering from Nebraska Wesleyan.
Before Nebraska (Nebraska Wesleyan)
Sickler competed two years for Nebraska Wesleyan before transferring to Nebraska in January 2006... earned NCAA Division III All-America honors as the 1,200-meter leg on the Prairie Wolves’ winning distance medley relay at the 2005 NCAA Division III indoor meet... also competed in the 1,500 meters, but did not advance to the finals... was a four-time individual All-GPAC honoree, placing sixth indoors in the 1,000 meters and fourth outdoors in the 1,500 as a sophomore in 2005, as well as third both indoors in the 1,000 and outdoors in the 1,500 as a freshman in 2004.
High School (Kearney)
Sickler earned a pair of all-class gold medals as the lead leg of Kearney’s 4x800-meter relay as a senior in 2003 and as a junior in 2002 at the Nebraska Class A state meet under Coach Roger Mathiesen... ran the third leg for the Bearcats’ third-place relay as a sophomore in 2002... claimed his highest individual placing as a senior with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters (1:56.54)... helped Kearney win three consecutive Class A team titles from 2001 to 2003.
