Veronica Grizzle recorded four first-place finishes in the weight throw including a personal-best toss of 65-6 (19.98) in a runner-up showing at the Iowa State Classic to place her third all-time at Nebraska… finished in the top three in all six weight throw appearances… also finished runner-up at the Iowa State Classic in the shot put with a season-best mark of 50-0 ¾ (15.26)…battled at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in the weight throw where she took fifth place at 63-3 (19.28) and also in the shot put where she managed a seventh place showing at 49-11 (15.21).

Grizzle finished eighth in the shot put (50-9 1/2) and 11th in the weight throw (60-2) at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships...posted a 10th-place finish in the hammer throw at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a mark of 181-1 (55.19)...earned another 10th-place finish in the shot put event at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a distance of 46-11 3/4 (14.32)... recorded a personal-best throw of 51-10 1/2 (15.81) in the shot put at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite... notched a personal-best throw of 63-7 1/2 (19.39) in the weight throw at the Mark Colligan Memorial... earned a personal and team-best mark of 186-2 (56.74) in the hammer throw en route to a win at the Nebraska Invite on May 5...took part in the shot put and hammer throw competitions at the NCAA West Prelims in Austin... earned academic All-Big Ten honors and claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

Grizzle set an indoor season-best mark of 49-2 1/2 (15.00) at the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships, finishing 13th... notched a season-best weight throw of 55-2 3/4 (16.83) at the adidas Classic on Jan. 21... posted a personal-best and team-best throw of 53-5 3/4 (16.30) in the shot put at the Sun Angel Classic on April 7... also notched a season-best mark of 135-4 (41.25) in the javelin at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on March 31... finished eighth in the shot put at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, notching a mark of 50-5 1/4 (15.37)... finished 10th in the javelin at the conference meet with a throw of 134-5 (40.99)... finished 21st in the shot put at the 2012 NCAA West Preliminary Round, recording a throw of 49-6 1/2 (15.10)... was a 2012 academic All-Big Ten selection... earned a spot on the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Grizzle redshirted both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2011.
2010 (Freshman)
Grizzle made an immediate impact during her freshman season, competing at both the indoor and outdoor Big 12 Championships... made her collegiate debut during the indoor season with a toss of 45-5 3/4 (13.86) at the Bill Bergan Invitational... improved the next week by over four feet at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational with a toss of 49-6 1/2 (15.10)... tossed a season best of 137-6 in the javelin at the Kansas Relays... took 11th in the shot put at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a mark of 46-11 3/4... saved her best throw of the season for the NCAA West Regional where she finished 14th with a toss of 50-9 1/2.
Before Nebraska (Tonganoxie)
Grizzle was a three-time qualifier at Kansas’ 4A state meet under Coach Chris Weller at Tonganoxie High School... finished runner-up in the shot put as a sophomore, junior and senior... added a third-place medal in the javelin in 2009... member of the National Honor Society... chose Nebraska over Wisconsin.

Parents are James and Beth Grizzle... born Aug. 10, 1991... older sister Roxi was also a member of the NU track and field team... is a broadcasting and film studies major at Nebraska.
