Travis Englund Season 2013-14

2014 (Senior)
Travis Englund recorded a personal-best mark of 7-0 ½ (2.15) to earn the 2014 Big Ten Indoor High Jump title… captured top honors in the high jump at the Mark Colligan Memorial with a mark of 6-11 ¾ (2.13)… registered a personal-best mark of 24-2 ½ (7.38) in the long jump at the Tyson Invitational in a fifth place showing… claimed top honors in the long jump at the NWU Invitational… also notched a pair of third place finishes in the high jump at the New Mexico and the Frank Sevigne Invitationals... finished ninth in the long jump at the Big Ten Championships.

2013 (Junior)
Englund finished with a leap of 46-4 (14.12) in the triple jump and a mark of 6-7 (2.01) in the high jump at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships...finished eighth in the high jump at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a mark of 6-9 1/2 (2.02) in Columbus, Ohio on May 12... posted a season-best leap of 6-8 3/4 (2.05) in the high jump at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Feb. 15... recorded a personal-best jump of 22-9 1/4 (6.94) in the long jump at th Frank Sevigne Husker Invite... also notched a personal-best triple jump of 47-9 (14.55) at the Nebraska Tune-Up... participated in six meets for NU during the 2013 outdoor season...recorded a high jump personal-best in a top finish at the Pre-Drake meet with a mark of 6-10 1/4 (2.09) on April 24...earned a personal-best distance of 47-10 3/4 (14.57) in the triple jump for a third-place finish at the Nebraska Quad on April 13...also competed once in the long jump at the Pre-Drake meet on April 24... named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar after earning academic All-Big Ten honors... claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

2012 (Sophomore)
Englund competed in eight meets during the 2012 indoor season, recording a season-best leap of 6-8 1/4 (2.04) in the high jump at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Feb. 17... posted that mark five times during the indoor season... finished with a season-best jump of 22-1 (6.73) in the long jump at the Sun Angel Classic... posted a season-best leap of 6-9 (2.06) in the high jump at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, finishing 14th... recorded a personal-best jump of 47-7 1/4 (14.51) in the triple jump at the Sun Angel Classic... notched a wind-aided triple jump of 48-2 1/2 (14.69) at the K.T. Woodman Classic... recorded a personal-best long jump of 24-0 3/4 (7.33) at the K.T. Woodman Classic... was an academic All-Big Ten honoree and was named to the fall 2011 and spring 2012 Nebraska Honor Roll.

2011 (Freshman)
Englund competed in six meets during the indoor track and field season, recording a season best of 45-7 in the triple jump at the Nebraska Tune-Up to finish third... finished in a tie for sixth in the high jump (6-9) at the 2011 Big 12 Indoor Championships, earning All-Big 12 honors... also competed in six meets during the outdoor track and field season... hit a personal best of 6-8 3/4 on high jump at the Drake Relays to finish 12th... finished 12th in the high jump (6-7) at the 2011 Big 12 Outdoor Championships.

2010 (Redshirt)
Englund competed as an unattached athlete in his first year at Nebraska... posted a top jump of 6-9 1/2 during the indoor season at the NWU Invitational... set an outdoor personal best of 6-6 3/4 at the Nebraska Open.

Before Nebraska (Northwest)
Englund jumped for Grand Island Northwest High School under Coach David Gee... finished seventh in the long jump and second in the high jump at the 2008 state meet with a personal-best leap of 6-6, which was also the second-best jump throughout all classes... returned as a senior to place fifth in both the long jump (20-6 1/2) and triple jump (44-5 1/4), sixth in the high jump (6-4) and ran the second leg of the Vikings’ 4x400-meter relay that won the state title (3:24.67)... chose Nebraska over Drake and Iowa State.
