High School: Tim Grier should make a major impact for Nebraska in the hurdles after a phenomenal prep career in the Georgia high school ranks... competed in the 2006 U.S. Junior Championships, placing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (51.34)... the time ranked second among all high school athletes nationally during the year... won the 300-meter hurdles title (37.63) in 2006 at the prestigious Golden West Invitational... also earned top honors in the 400-meter hurdles (52.49) at the 2006 DeKalb International Prep Classic... concluded his high school career by placing in four events at the Georgia Class AAA state meet, including earning a pair of state tites in the 300-meter hurdles (36.74) and 4x100-meter relay (41.98)... the state-record 300-meter hurdle time ranked eighth nationally among all high school athletes in 2006... also claimed silver-medal honors in the 110-meter hurdles (14.27) and long jump (23-3 1/4)... competed in two events at the National Scholastic Indoor meet in New York, finishing second in the pentathlon (3,745) and third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.03) just behind Husker teammate Jamie Ryder (7.91)... selected to the 2006 USA Today All-USA Track and Field Team in the hurdles... transferred to Westlake from Hiram High School, where he placed in four events at the 2005 Georgia Class AAAA state meet... earned the state title in the long jump with a mark of 23-10 1/4, placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (38.18), third in the 110-meter hurdles (14.20) and sixth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:25.82)... also placed in four events as a sophomore in 2004, including a runner-up finish in the long jump (23-5 1/4)... finished seventh in the 300-meter hurdles (40.34) as a freshman in 2003.
