2009 (Senior)

Skyler Reising (pronounced RY-zing) capped his final year at Nebraska with his fourth All-Big 12 honor in the multi-events and a trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships... won the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational heptathlon during the indoor season with a personal-best score of 5,485 points, the 20th-best Division I score in 2009... finished eighth at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with 5,421 points... finished first in the shot put (50-1 1/4) and tied for first in the high jump (6-9) at the conference heptathlon... opened the outdoor season with a runner-up finish to teammate Bjorn Barrefors at the Jim Click Decathlon... totaled a personal-best score of 7,325 points to provisionally qualify him for the NCAA Outdoor Championships... sustained injury prior to the conference outdoor meet and was unable to compete... recovered in time for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing 22nd in the decathlon... ended his Husker career ranked seventh on the all-time NU performance list in the heptathlon and sixth in the decathlon.


2008 (Junior)

Skyler Reising (pronounced RY-zing) continued to excel under Multi-Event Coach Kris Grimes by posting the top finish of his career in the heptathlon at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... set personal bests in the heptathlon (5,467) and decathlon (7,295) and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second straight year... competed in various events throughout the indoor season in preparation for the heptathlon at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... won the long jump at the NWU Invitational with a personal-best indoor leap of 23-4... set a personal best in the heptathlon at the conference meet with 5,467 points to finish fifth, while becoming only the seventh Husker all-time to score that many points... set a personal best in the high jump during the conference heptathlon with a leap of 6-10 1/4... started the outdoor season at the Jim Click Shootout with a runner-up finish and a personal-best NCAA provisional-qualifying score of 7,295 points in the decathlon, the No. 6 score all-time score on the NU performance list... competed through the first five events in the decathlon at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships before withdrawing due to injury... set a personal best and NCAA regional-qualifying mark in the long jump during the conference decathlon with a leap of 24-5 1/2... earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Outdoor Championships with his score at the Jim Click Shootout, but the injury suffered at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships kept him out of the national meet.

 

2007 (Sophomore)

Reising, one of several young Husker athletes to make their first NCAA Championship appearances, scored 7,063 points to finish 20th in the decathlon... earned an at-large bid in the decathlon after placing fourth at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a then-personal-best 7,244 points... set individual event bests in each of the decathlon’s 10 events in 2007, including five during the Big 12 competition (100, 400, 1,500, high jump, long jump)... earlier in the season placed fifth during a cold and windy Audrey Walton Decathlon with 6,740 points... set his 110-meter hurdles best during the competition... compiled a personal-best and NCAA provisional qualification heptathlon score of 5,333 (oversize) to place sixth at the Big 12 indoor meet... recorded his best career pole vault clearance of 14-6 during the Big 12 indoor heptathlon. 

 

2006 (Redshirt Freshman)

Reising participated in combined events competitions at both the Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor Championships as a redshirt freshman... finished ninth with a then-personal-best score in the decathlon at the Big 12 outdoor meet... set individual event bests during the competition in the 100- and 400-meter dashes, 1,500 meters, 110-meter hurdles, pole vault and long jump... individually, tied for 12th in the high jump competition (6-4 3/4)... previously recorded point totals of 6,488w at the Audrey Walton Decathlon and 6,293w at the Jim Click Decathlon...  registered other season bests outdoors in the high jump at the Ward Haylett Invitational and in the javelin at the Emporia State Relays... indoors, earned 11th place in the Big 12 indoor heptathlon with a season-best score... set season bests during the competition in the high jump, pole vault and long jump... totaled 4,275 points at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite with individual bests in the 60 meters and 1,000 meters... posted season bests in the shot put and 60-meter hurdles at the Nebraska Wesleyan Triangular.

 

2005 (Freshman)

Reising redshirted during both indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year at Nebraska... competed unattached indoors at the Holiday Inn Invite, clearing 6-3 1/4 in the high jump... competed unattached outdoors at the Audrey Walton Decathlon, where he scored 6,030 points in his first decathlon.

 

Before Nebraska (Lincoln Northeast HS)

Reising surprised many by bounding to the triple jump title at the 2004 Nebraska Class A state meet with a personal-best performance (46-9 1/2) in his first trip to the state championships under Coach John Snoozy... best jump going into the state meet was 45-10 1/2 in winning the Class A-3 District Championship... ran the second leg on the Rockets’ 4x400-meter relay team, but it did not score... personal-best long jump of 21-10 3/4 was at the Chieftain Invitational in Bellevue.
