High School: Sarah Lyons will be a welcome addition to the Huskers’ sprint corps following an accomplished prep career at Omaha Brownell-Talbot High School, where she earned six All-Class Gold Medals... swept the 2006 Nebraska Class C and All-Class Gold Medals in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dash events for the second straight year... ran a time of 25.08 to win the 200 after setting the all-time state record of 24.06 during the prelims... also set a Class C state record in the 400 (55.37) during the prelims before posting a winning mark of 56.30 in the finals... the 400 time is only 0.01 shy of former Husker NCAA Champion Angee Henry’s all-time state record... ran a blistering wind-aided time of 11.68 during the 100-meter prelims before clocking in at 12.22 to win during the finals... also ran anchor leg on the Raiders’ Class C winning 4x100-meter relay (49.40)... also swept the 100 (11.89w), 200 (25.27) and 400 (56.71) as a junior at the 2005 Nebraska Class C state meet, while again leading the Raiders’ 4x100-meter relay (49.25) to a Class C crown... finished runner-up in the 2004 Class C 100 (12.34) and 200 (26.17) competitions as a sophomore... as a freshman, was second in the 100 (12.87) and 200 (26.80) at the 2003 Class D state meet... set a Class C state record of 11.98 in the 100-meter dash at the 2006 Omaha North Invitational... concluded the summer following her senior season competing in both the 100 and 200 prelims at the U.S. Junior Championships... was a member of the National Honor Society.
