Sam Haase (pronounced HAH-zee) posted marks at two indoor meets, including a season best of 6-7 at the ISU Classic... bounced back to jump at six meets during the outdoor season... cleared 6-6 3/4 at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships to finish seventh and earn his second career All-Big 12 honor... finished the year with a leap of 6-9 at the NCAA West Regional.
2009 (Sophomore)
Haasezee) opened the 2009 indoor season with a third-place leap of 6-10 1/4 in the high jump at the Holiday Inn Invitational... exploded at the Nebraska Tune-Up with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying jump of 7-0 1/4... earned his first All-Big 12 honor at the Big 12 Indoor Championships by tying for seventh with a leap of 6-8 3/4... cleared 6-6 3/4 at the first four meets of the outdoor season and then 6-9 at the Concordia Twilight... matched the regional-qualifying standard of 6-10 3/4 at the Ward Haylett Invitational... tied for 11th at the Big 12 Championships with a jump of 6-8 3/4.
2008 (Sophomore/Redshirt Freshman)
Haase competed in the high jump four times during the indoor season as an unattached athlete... finished third at the Prairie Wolf Invitational with a then-personal-best jump of 6-8 3/4, breaking his previous best by one-half inch... jumped as a Husker for the first time at the Jim Click Shootout, finishing seventh with a leap of 6-6 3/4... matched his season-best of 6-6 3/4 at the Nebraska Open to place third and the Ward Haylett Invitational to tie for seventh.
Before Nebraska (Norfolk Catholic HS/Wayne State College)
Haase transferred to Nebraska from Wayne State College, where he competed during the indoor season and redshirted outdoors in 2007... set a Wayne State indoor record while winning the 2007 Northern Sun Conference high jump (6-8 1/4)... attended Norfolk Catholic High School his senior year where he was coached by Tim Kassmeier... finished second to Husker teammate Paul Hamilton on misses at the 2006 Nebraska Class B state meet (6-11)... competed for Lutheran High School Northeast his freshman through junior years in the Class C state meet and finished third as a junior and fifth as a freshman in the high jump.
