1983 (Senior)
As a senior, Simmons split time as the Huskers' starting split end with junior Scott Kimball.  Simmons was the No. 2 reciever for the Huskers in the season with 13 catches for 137 yards.  He caught at least one pass in nine games, with a high of two catches for 34 yards in the 1984 Orange Bwl against Miami.  

1982 (Junior)
Simmons previously had been a wingback for Nebraska, before switching to split end his junior year. Simmons' lone touchdown of his career came as a junior against New Mexico State when he snagged a 61-yarder to score.  For the season, Simmons had 8 catches for 156 yards, and added 1 rushing attempt for 19 yards

1981 (Redshirt)
Simmons redshirted in 1981 while switching to split end.

1980 (Sophomore)
As a sophomore, Simmons lettered as a wingback in 1980.  He had 14 rushes for 66 yards with a long of 27 yards.  

1979 (Freshman)
Simmons started for the 1979 freshman team as a wingback.  He returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown for the freshman team.

Simmons was born on Jan. 29, 1961 in Tyler, Texas.  He is the son of Clyde and Bertha Simmons
