2005: Patrick Southern recorded a new outdoor personal best in the pole vault of 16-0 3/4 to place fifth at the Emporia State Relays... won gold at the Nebraska Wesleyan Twilight with a vault of 15-2... finished sixth at the Nebraska Invitational (15-1)... opened the indoor season by tying for fifth at the adidas Classic (15-7)... also cleared 15-7 to earn eighth place at the Husker Invitational and KSU Open. 2004: Southern did not compete during the indoor season while recovering from a foot injury... vaulted a then-career-best 15-6 at the K.T. Woodman Classic... tied for fourth in his highest finish of the year at the ESU Relays (14-11). 2003: Southern twice cleared a personal-best mark of 15-11 during the 2003 indoor season... first jumped 15-11 at the Wildcat Invitational for a fourth-place finish... cleared it again at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, where he tied for ninth... took fourth place at the Holiday Inn Invitational in the seeded section of the pole vault, as well as at the Panther Classic... tied for second at the Prairie Wolf Invitational... was granted a medical hardship for the outdoor season because of a foot injury. 2002: Best performance of the 2002 outdoor season was a mark of 14-7 1/4 at the triangular meet against Kansas State and Wyoming... redshirted during the indoor season because of injury... outdoor season was limited because of the injury.
