2005: Nathan Kumm redshirted during both indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year at Nebraska... competed unattached both indoors and outdoors... totaled 6,039 points in the decathlon at the Audrey Walton Combined Events... placed fifth in the 400 meters at the Nebraska Invitational in a personal-best 48.22... scored 4,132 points in the heptahlon indoors at the Husker Invitational... finished runner-up in the 600-yard run at the Holiday Inn Invitational in 1:13.75... earned third place in the 600 meters at the Prairie Wolf Invitational. High School: Kumm ended his prep career by winning the 400-meter dash at the 2004 Nebraska Class D state meet in a personal-best 49.69... also finished runner-up in the 200-meter dash... was the silver medalist in the 400-meter dash at the 2003 Class D state meet... qualified in the discus for both the 2003 and 2004 state meets, but did not score... anchored the Class D fourth-place 4x400-meter relay, and finished eighth in the 400-meter dash at the 2003 Class D state meet.
