Parnell was a member of the 2006 Nebraska Class A state champion Omaha North Vikings under the direction of Coach Eric Johnson... finished second in the triple jump his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons with marks of 46-1 3/4, 47-6 1/2, and 47-2 1/4 respectively... qualified once in the long jump (2006), earning second place with a personal-best leap of 22-2... career-long triple jump of 48-4 earned him the 2007 Metro Conference silver medal.
