One of the top sprinters in the state of Kansas, Kurt Pauly joins the Huskers from Garden Plain High School in Cheney, Kan., where he won three straight Class 3A titles in the 400 meters and set the state record in the event... m

ade his first appearance at the KHSAA state meet as a freshman in 2007, as he finished 11th in the 400 meters and ran the anchor leg of the winning 4x100-meter relay... returned as a sophomore to win his first individual state championship in the 400 meters, running 50.68... led the Owls to a state team title as a junior... won the 100 meters (11.36), 200 meters (22.17) and defended his title in the 400 meters with a time of 48.32, while also running the anchor leg of the 4x100-meter relay that captured gold... time of 48.32 in the 400-meter finals set the Kansas Class 3A state record... continued to dominate as a senior, as she repeated in the 100 (11.00) and 200 (22.71) meters, while also capturing his third straight title in the 400 meters (48.34)... added a fourth state title as the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay... chose Nebraska over Wichita State and Kansas State.
