Greg Carlberg was Nebraska’s first All-American in cross country in 1970. An Omaha native, Carlberg placed 22nd at the 1970 NCAA Championships. Carlberg was Nebraska’s first sub-four minute miler (3:59.6), and he was an All-American on the track as well after a fifth-place finish in the mile at the 1971 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
