2005: Elizabeth Lange contributed in her first indoor season at Nebraska, finishing fourth in the 800 meters in a personal-best 2:11.97 at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... set a then-career best of 2:14.18 to take fourth place at the adidas Classic, before breaking it two weeks later at the Husker Invitational, when she clocked 2:13.35 (sixth)... opened her career at the Holiday Inn Invitational by running on the first-place distance medley relay (12:00.59)... competed only once outdoors due to anemia... was granted a medical redshirt by the Big 12 Conference for the outdor season. High School: Lange collected an amazing 14 medals in the Nebraska Class A state meet during her four years at Lincoln Pius X High School... won six All-Class gold medals and nine Class A gold medals...won the 2002 and 2001 Nebraska Class B individual cross country championships... her 2001 state cross country championship was also the All-Class gold-medal-winning performance...won the 2002 state cross country title despite losing her shoe in the snow during the first 400 meters of the race... the only Class A athlete in Nebraska history to win the 800-meter run all four years... won her third straight Class A gold medal in the 400-meter dash at the 2004 state meet to tie for the most wins in that event in any class... is the only Nebraska athlete in any class to win the 400-, 800- and 1,600-meter runs in the same year (2002, 2003)... holds the state record in the 1,600-meter run with her time of 4:49.3 at the 2003 Auburn Invitational... her 2:09.4 personal best in the 800 recorded at the 2003 Blair Invitational is the second-best ever by a female Nebraska prep athlete... named the 2003 Gatorade Nebraska Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year... served as National Honor Society president at Pius X as a senior.
