2005: Demea Carter competed for Nebraska at both indoor and outdoor Big 12 Championships as a freshman... set outdoor personal bests of 23-9 (wind-aided) in the long jump and 45-8 1/2 in the triple jump at the Big 12 outdoor meet... bounded to an indoor career-best mark of 45-6 1/4 in the triple jump at the Big 12 indoor meet... recorded an indoor lifetime best of 23-8 3/4 in the long jump to finish third at the Husker Invite... finished sixth in the 100 meters at the Nebraska Invitational with a personal-best time of 10.86... earned silver at the Nebraska Wesleyan Twilight with a career-best 21.86 (wind-aided) in the 200 meters. High School: Carter helped lead Detroit Country Day to the 2004 Michigan Lower Peninsula State Division 3 Championship title... set the Division 3 state meet record in winning the long jump (23-7)... also won the 300-meter hurdles (39.09), and was runner-up in both the 100 and 4x400-meter relay... his leap of 22-6 1/2 won the 2003 Division 3 state long jump in a meet-record mark... he also ran the anchor leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay at the same meet... ran legs on the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays in 2002, which both won in Division 3 meet-record times... won the 2004 MITS (Michigan Indoor Track Series) state championship in the long jump with a 23-0 1/2 effort... tied for fourth in the 2004 MITS 60-meter dash (7.02)... was third in the 2003 MITS long jump with a leap of 21-10 3/4... placed fourth in the long jump (23-0 1/2) at the 2004 USA Youth Track & Field Championships.
