2009 (Junior)

Dax Danns finished his junior season on a high note as he earned All-Big 12 honors in three events at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships... ran a season best of 6.81 twice in the 60 meters, first at the adidas Classic to take third and then at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational to take fourth... ran a personal-best time of 21.56 in the 200 meters at the Frank Sevigne to finish fourth... opened the outdoor season with a win at the Jim Click Shootout, running 10.56 in the 100 meters... finished eighth in the preliminaries of the 100 and 200 meters at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships... moved up one spot in the 100-meter final to finish seventh and stayed eighth in the 200 meters... ran the opening leg of the 4x100-meter relay that finished third at the conference meet... ran the 100 meters and the 4x100-meter relay at the NCAA Midwest Regional... finished 16th in the 100 with a season-best time of 10.49 and helped the relay finish third in the preliminaries and fourth in the finals.

 

2008 (Sophomore)

Danns was a key member of the Nebraska sprint and relay squads, as he earned medals at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in the 60-meter hurdles and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay... earned an outdoor medal as a member of the 4x100-meter relay... earned a victory at the Holiday Inn Invite (6.90) to start the indoor season... placed fifth at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (6.83) in the 60 meters and seventh in the 200 meters (21.79), running a then-personal-best time of 21.65 in the preliminaries of the 200 at the Frank Sevigne...  saved the best time of his career for the final of the 60 meters at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, finishing third with a time of 6.72... ran the third leg on the 4x400-meter relay team that finished fourth at the indoor conference meet with a time of 3:08.76... started the outdoor season with a sweep of the 100 (10.44) and 200 (21.02) meters at the Jim Click Shootout... finished fourth at the Drake Relays in the 100 meters (10.48) while winning the 100 (10.87) at the Nebraska Open... ran the 100 and 200 meters at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships as well as the opening leg of the 4x100-meter relay that finished fifth with a time of 40.21... qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional in the 100 and 200 meters, finishing 17th and 23rd, respectively.

 

2007 (Freshman)

Danns was a key member of Nebraska’s 4x400-meter relay...  ran the third leg in five of seven races... posted an outstanding split of 46.2 on the team that ran 3:05.15, the eighth-fastest time in school history, to place third at the NCAA Midwest Regional... competed in four events at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, earning All-Big 12 honors in the 100-meter dash (seventh) and 4x100- (third) and 4x400-meter (fifth) relays... ran the second leg of the Husker 4x200-meter relay that twice set the school record in 2007... helped the Huskers claim a share of the Big 12 men’s indoor team title with a fourth-place effort in the 60-meter dash (season-best 6.79)... also ran 6.79 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational... joined teammate Scott Wims at the 2007 Pan Am Junior Championships, where Danns finished sixth in the 200 and third in the 100 competing for his native Guyana.

 

Before Nebraska (Helix HS)

Danns, a native of Guyana, set junior national records in the 60-meter dash (6.79) indoors, as well as the 100 (10.60) and 200 (21.21) outdoors... earned fourth place in both the 100 (10.65) and 200 (21.26w) as a junior at the 2005 California state meet...  as a freshman in 2003, ran on 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams with former Heisman Trophy-winning tailback Reggie Bush... the latter relay placed ninth at state.
