Chris Brown continued to show improvement as a sophomore, breaking his previous best twice in the discus... opened the season with back-to-back third-place finishes at the Stanford Invitational, posting a then-personal-best toss of 154-9, and the WSC Wildcat Open (143-2)... ended the season on a high note with a personal-best throw of 161-5 at the Ward Haylett Invitational.
2008 (Redshirt Freshman)
Brown made his Husker debut in the discus at the Jim Click Shootout with a throw of 142-9... competed in five more meets during the outdoor season, including a then-personal-best throw of 153-8 at the Nebraska Invitational to finish second... made his first trip to the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, finishing 17th (140-11).
2007 (Freshman)
Brown redshirted the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2007... competed unattached in three outdoor meets... recorded a season-best throw of 148-8 in the discus at the Nebraska Open.
Before Nebraska (Louisville HS)
Brown joined Nebraska’s group of throwers following an outstanding senior season at Louisville High School under Cory Holl... earned the discus state title at the 2006 Nebraska Class C state meet with a throw of 162-2, winning by nearly six feet... competed in the state meet for the first time as a junior, but did not score.
