Carlos Hernandez recorded an indoor personal-best jump of 6-11 (2.11) at the Holiday Inn Invitational to start the 2013 indoor season... finished with a leap of 6-9 (2.06) at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships...participated in nine meets during the 2013 outdoor season...earned a fourth place finish as he cleared 6-9 1/2 (2.07) at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Columbus on May 12...tied the best 2013 NU men's high jump of the year twice with a height of 6-11 1/2 (2.12) at the NCAA West Prelims on May 25 and recorded a top finish in the Nebraska Invite on May 5.

2012 (Freshman)
Hernandez posted an indoor personal-best leap of 6-10 3/4 (2.10) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships on Feb. 24, finishing fifth... also recorded a jump of 6-10 3/4 at the adidas Classic on Jan. 21... set an outdoor season-best jump of 6-10 3/4 at the Kansas Relays on April 21... finished 19th in the high jump at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships... was named to the Spring 2012 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Before Nebraska (Santa Teresa HS)
Hernandez came to Nebraska from Santa Teresa High School in Santa Teresa, N.M., with a wealth of raw talent in the high jump... did not compete in track and field until his sophomore season at Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas... transferred to Santa Teresa following his junior year at Franklin... took first at the USA Track and Field Region 10 Junior Olympic Championships in Pueblo, Colo., during the summer of 2010 with a leap of 7-0 (2.13)... went on to take fourth with a jump of 6-10 3/4 at the USATF National Junior Olympics in Sacramento, Calif.
