Brandon Sheppard struggled during the indoor regulars season, but then took off during at the Big 12 Championships... failed to clear higher than 6-10 3/4 at all six of his meets prior to the conference meet and then took third in Ames, Iowa, with a leap of 7-0 1/2... jumped a personal-best of 7-2 1/2 the following week at the ISU Last Chance to earn his first bid to the NCAA Indoor Championships... tied for 15th with a jump of 7-0 1/4 at the national meet... tied his outdoor best at the Drake Relays with a clearance at 6-11... jumped 6-6 3/4 in the rain at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships to place eighth... cleared 6-9 at the NCAA West Regional to finish the year.
2009 (Sophomore)
Sheppard earned his first indoor All-Big 12 honor and repeated as an outdoor All-Big 12 performer in 2009... broke seven feet in the high jump for the first time in his career at the Nebraska Tune-Up with a winning clearance and NCAA provisional-qualifying leap of 7-0 1/4... tied for seventh at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a jump of 6-8 3/4... matched his personal best with a third-place leap of 7-0 1/4 at the Cyclone Last Chance to conclude the indoor season... hit the NCAA outdoor regional-qualifying mark 6-10 3/4 at the Concordia Twilight... cleared the same height the following week at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships to finish sixth... ended the year at the NCAA Midwest Regional where he jumped 6-8 3/4 to finish 10th for the second straight year.
2008 (Redshirt Freshman)
Sheppard had a breakout season for the Nebraska jumps squad, as he earned his first All-Big 12 honor and a bid to the NCAA Midwest Regional... started the indoor season by jumping 6-10 1/4 at the Holiday Inn Invitational to become only the 24th jumper in Husker history to clear the height indoors... tied for first at the Iowa State Last Chance with a clearance of 6-8... was one of three Nebraska jumpers on the men’s side to place in the top seven at the Big 12 Championships, finishing seventh with a leap of 6-10 3/4... tied for 10th at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a personal-best jump of 6-11.
2007 (Freshman)
Sheppard redshirted his first season at Nebraska... competed unattached in four indoor and three outdoor meets... indoors, set a personal best of 6-7 1/2 to tie for fourth at the Prairie Wolf Invitational... also tied for fourth with a season-best outdoor leap of 6-6 3/4 at the Nebraska Invitational.
Before Nebraska (San Ramon Valley HS)
Sheppard earned second place as a senior at the Sacramento Meet of Champions by clearing 6-7 while under Coach Ken Harvey... won the boys high jump at the 2006 Stanford Invitational with a height of 6-6 1/4... qualified for the 2006 California state meet, but did not clear the opening height in the preliminaries.
