Before Nebraska
A four-time all-class pole vault Nebraska state champion, Alyssa Onnen, cleared 12-6 at the 2026 NSAA Class C State Championships in late May. Onnen additionally added a third-place mark in triple-jump action at the meet with a 37' 5.5". At the Gothenburg meet, she cleared 13' 4.25" to earn the new all-class record for the state. Named the Nebraska Track and Field Gatorade Player of the Year in 2025, she cleared 13 feet as a junior, marking the best jump in Class C state history.
